I've had this toilet 1.5 years. I got this when I did a guest bathroom remodel. I was put off by the price, but loved the clean lines of it, so much so that I got the matching shower base. I had both pieces professionally installed. In 1.5 years I have replaced the seat lid 3 times. It keeps cracking from the back of the seat to the front. Just to replace the seat is 65.00. American Standard insists someone is sitting on the seat lid, which is not the case. I've decided to cut my loses and get a different brand toilet, not made by AS. Anyone interested in a less than 2 year old pricey toilet, it will be sitting at curbside for trash pick up.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PhillyQueenie Great toilet, strong flush
This toilet is my main toilet in my first floor powder room. It flushes strongly and doesn't leave any stains. It's quiet and doesn't take up as much space as other reviews had made it seem. I got the two piece instead of the one piece so as to save over $100, and I'm glad I did. Still kind of expensive.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Frustrated I like the look at the bottom
I bought this toilet last summer because of the classic bold lines at the bottom which makes it very easy to clean. The one think I continue to have a problem with is the seat. It continues to come loose therefore the top of the toilet seat does not stay in place. It always swings from side to side and it always needs to be repositioned before and after every use. I have took the seat off multiple time and adjusted/tightened the screws but couple days later.....seat loose again. :( ugggghh. Its irritates me and would not buy again. This was for my powder room in the downstairs hall and was going to get another for my guest bathroom but not again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FAUXGC2015 Purchased the right product.
The Town Square Flowise 2-piece 1.28 GPF right height elongated toilet is perfect in my new remodeled family room/basement bathroom. I remodeled a small 2 piece powder room into a 3 piece bath with a shower (51"x100"). The toilet tank is small, compact and streamline. The comfort height is great and the elongated seat is comfortable. I love the hidden bolts on the side, makes for easy cleaning and looks good. I bought another one for the tear out main bathroom upstairs. All of my fixtures (sink, tub, shower, faucets are Grohe (lower) and Kohler(main floor) baths, but these toilets look better than those by Grohe and Kohler and cost less. The flush is great, small amount of water but everything goes in one flush. My sister is getting them for her bathroom remodeling projects. The plumber commented on how heavy the toilets are. You will not be disappointed. And it came with a soft close seat.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ronk Excellent product, sturdy yet elegant
During installation be aware that this is a heavy toilet! Somewhat difficult to place and align properly due to its weight, rear placement of water feed, and base shape tapers towards front.
After install, it is solid, quiet, only 1.2 gallon flush and no ugly trap is visible.
Recommend for purchase.

My only complaint was on instillation. This is a heavier than average toilet. What makes it even more difficult--as I found out-- is you should attach the tank to the bowl and hook up the supply line hose all before you attempt to place it on the wax ring. This you should do, because once you have the bowl seated on the wax ring and very close to the back wall--the bowl has side flanges--which make it almost impossible to mount the tank and secure the tank bolts to the bowl due to the lack of room. So rather than struggling with just the bowl to place it on the wax ring, you will get the much heavier bowl plus tank to pick-up, move and place on the wax ring. It was a real workout. Pay someone to install it for you and save your back. The finished product is a wonderful upgrade for our downstairs guest bathroom. No complaints on operation--its a winner. If I every have to replace it--I'm going to call someone to take care of it.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by jmcc4satx Great "slab-side" look
Two years ago we refreshed the entire front bathroom. One of the elements was the American Standard Town Square FloWise Right Height Elongated 1.28 gpf Toilet. The plumber was not used to the different installation process and took an extra hour to get it right. No extra charge from the plumber, but good to know. The low flow toilet requires a learning curve on "How to Flush for Acceptable Results." It can be done but only with thoughtfulness. Somewhat disappointing for the premium priced toilet.

Soft close lid actually taps the ceramic seat, and tank...no way to fix that I see. But the biggest disappointment was the fact that having purchased (extra cost) a toilet with a concealed trap turns out to have a fully exposed trap in the back where it is even harder to clean. Hamster owners beware! Wonder why this was not mentioned or pictured in the purchase process that is online only?
