Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by American Standard Universal Bath Drain This is the second time I have purchased and installed this product and ran into the identical problem of opening and closing of the drain. On the most recent unit, after following the directions and dislodging the stem, the plactic that holds the spring retention mechanism in place snapped and fell off, rendering the use of the drain open/close useless. In addition the tail piece was too short for the application, and in my opinion should be longer. My solution was to cut down the overflow pipe which was longer than required and substitute the cut of piece to match the tail piece length I needed. February 22, 2008
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by very poor quality; had to replace it with a better drain. Drain was poor quality; plumber had to replace with a better drain December 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bathroom drain ( shower) Amazing product---- easy install--- works great--- highly recommend-- affordable December 17, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor design This thing was a royal pain! It was very difficult to install. I had to guess what length to make the rocker assembly and the bath drain linkage kit. I have an open basement so I was able to view from the bottom of the waste tee if the settings on the linkage kit and rocker were correct. I had to remove the linkage kit four or five times to get the correct length. Doing so I broke a plastic clip on the linkage kit. The spring is a Horrible design! Hair will accumulate around it quickly which will have to be removed and cleaned. The last poor design is the face plate attachment. When you have to remove, well you have a better chance of hitting a dart board blindfolded. They need to make it longer. November 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It fit tub exactly and went on with ease It fit tub exactly and went on with ease, I liked the option of the working drain plug. I liked everything about it,I thought it needed a gassket between the inside of tub and the chrome wheel on the upper drain but it did not have one so I made one and it fit nicely. January 7, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Needs better design First I had to replace the set screw which holds the handle with an allen head 1 inch machine screw (SS) so I could find the screw to remove the handle easily. But the main problem is hair wrapping around the spring. The assembly needs to be removed every 2 months to clean the hair and stuff collected on the spring. A nasty chore and a pain in the neck to remove the assembly that often. The aesthetics are nice and operation smooth but the regular cleaning more than offsets the value of this bath drain. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible Design - Never BUY this product After 5 years of having this drain, the screw on the pop-up stopper is rusted. Impossible to remove it.  November 8, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do Not Waste your money Quite simply this does not work reliabily. It will sometimes not open and some times not close. Terrible design and three different plumbers could not fix. DO NOT BUY THIS DRAIN. September 11, 2007
