Yes - they are plastic. I recommend either a miter saw (chop saw) or a utility Knife and straight edge.

Answer:
Yes. Heavy shears or tin snips work well to make small notches to fit around gutter hangers. You may also have to trim the width so they fit under the first row of shingles - I've used a circular saw or a band saw for this width adjustment. After all, they're just plastic.

Answer:
Hello, I installed my 90 degree corners by cutting them on my miter saw, just like you would do if it were wood. The plastic will not harm the blade, but you do have to cut slowly or else it may "shatter". Meaning, break apart. A utility knife and straight edge will also work just fine with many repeated cuts.

I am installing these now. I'm about half way finished and have been cutting a 45 degree end on the gutter cover with a miter saw. Once I get up on the roof, I use tin snips to get the fit to be tight as it should be. As you know, "nothing is square" and the gutter installation is no different! Make sure when you cut the 45 degree that you have extra length for the gutter cover to overlap at the opposite end then trim the bottom of the cover to fit on the gutter against the bottom of the cap and also then trim the non-mitered end of the gutter cover opposite the 45 degree mitre cut to the correct length for overlapping as instructed. I have adapted this process since starting my installation, and it is working very well for me. Easy to cut and now tight corners. Read Less

Answer:
Not sure about the Amerimax gutters - buy one length and check for fit with the edge of the gutter. The strips are easy to notch for gutter hangers using heavy shears or tin snips. The width can also be trimmed with a saw (I've used circular and band saws) to fit under the shingles. After all, they're just plastic.

The trim color of my house is a dark brown, I know these don't come in dark brown. If it is possible to paint them, please let me know. Could benefit others. If they can be, it could also be beneficial to your sales as well.

I am installing these on my home now. I suggest using exterior primer as a base coat and then your colored paint over the primer. The primer usually dries quickly and should help the paint to adhere and last longer.

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 101 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Value and Easy Installation I purchased this product after trying the Diamond Gutter Guard also made by Amerimax. The Diamond gutter guard kept everything out of the gutters, including the water. This product works much better. There is a small amount of runoff in very heavy rain, but the amount is trivial. The valley where the water runs into the gutters stays clear and I haven't had to clean my gutters since the installation. I bought 25 of these and had them installed in under 2 hours. I am by no means an expert handyman, but a child would have no problem installing these. I would absolutely recommend this product to friends and family. You'll be glad you invested in these. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Purchase These gutter covers are really easy to install and far better than the screen type that we used before. We find that they keep leaves out and other debris but the rain still falls in like it should. Will definitely buy more for other areas of our home. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Yes - they DO work After the 1000th time of risking my neck at the end of a 24ft ladder, having to clean out my gutter 3-4 times a year due to my neighbors trees, I decided to just try these. By the looks of them, I did not have high expectations, but I gave them a try and bought enough for 2 sides of my home. The installation was fairly straight forward, though, again, a bit stressful at the end of a 24 ft ladder. This was a year ago, during summer. Recently as I was sitting on my deck, I noticed that I had never looked back at my gutters since. No more waking up in the night due to the rain spilling over, or fixing the divots left in the soil below. And during that recent deluge of a rain that soon came (it is summer, after all), I watched, from outside (with umbrella in hand) that these things worked perfectly for me! Quite possibly one of the best bang-for-the-buck items I had ever bought from HD. Your mileage may vary, but I am just tickled pink with them..... July 19, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Somewhat effective. Keep out some leaves, get clogged with debris, form icicles and ice dams in the winter, dirt adheres to the PVC.. Do not understand 5 star ratings at all. Covers are EZ to install. We have lots of trees ; Oaks and maples on the North side do not drop leaves at the same time . Not a noticeable difference on the S or W facing gutters. Must still clean out the fairly new gutters and unclog the covers in the spring and the fall . Takes 2-4hours plus time to remove the dirt and mildew from the PVC with bleach. Remains a dirty time consuming job. Have replaced these covers once rather than clean the debris from the openings and the dirty PVC. Have found a birds nest or two. but now I can skip the winter and summer cleanings Not afraid to get up on the roof myself . Hired hands charge too much and don't meet my standards. Neighbor removed all his gutter guards and covers and demonstrated he is able to clean our gutters with a backpack blower in twenty minutes. Our covers are off now ; I may borrow his backpack blower in the fall. June 21, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by excellent product Instructions were easy to follow, panels went in easy, did not need to use screws but due to the differing weather conditions, I may have to install them later. Product was easy to cut to fit with tin snips July 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Like the way they work I have seen these gutter guards on other house and like how they look. And after talking too the home owners they all say that the guards keep all the leaves out yet still let the rain off the roof get to the down spouts. April 26, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Amerimax Gutter Guards Made from very good material. However, I have 6" gutters that these are advertised to fit. The lip on the 6" gutter won't accommodate the gutter guard. I was unable to snap the guard to my gutter except on each end of the guard. The area of space to snap or apply the gutter guard is too small. They may be great for the 4" or 5" gutter but not the 6" I have. March 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by whitegutters They were easy to put up and they seem to be working well so far. March 8, 2016
