CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not the best, not the worst Not the best, but not the worst. I had compared it to a slightly higher priced version in-store and did buy this version for the cost savings. What I like: It is lite and easy to use. Plastic handle is easy to grip and this short shovel has its intended uses. I picked thru the selection to find "the one" that had a good, quality wood shaft to it. Most had some defect (major to minor) in the wood; knots, cracks, etc... that lead me to wonder if it would/could fail under heavier uses. The shovel had a good stiffness to the metal and small landings for pressing with the feet. The other model I compared to had much larger landings for your feet. What I (slightly) disliked: The smaller landings for your feet. Some defects to select models; wooden shaft. Plastic vs. comparable metal handles. Overall, I am happy with the purchase for a lighter duty use shovel; not general purpose use. June 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect size for a woman ! I bought this shovel because of its size. I am only 5' tall and a senior. This is the perfect shovel for me or anyone needing something easy to work with. It is very lightweight and easy to use. The shovel has little plates to put your shoe or boot on to dig, which is easy on the legs and doesn't take as much effort or work to dig. The handle on the top also is an advantage for grip. Not a shovel for a large grown man I am sure, but for teens and seniors it is fantastic and I highly reccomend ! Yes I am a woman and love to garden, great tool for doing so. Oh, forgot to mention, the shovel comes a little above the waist on me. Not a tall heavy shovel at all. July 23, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Handle Broke In Use I loved this shovel. Perfect height. But recently when trying to dig up a fern, the handle cracked in two. February 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy to use handle I really liked this shovel due to the way the handle is made. It is easy to hold on to when carrying or while digging. I used it to plant a few bushes and a small tree in my yard. I have tough soil so I picked a shovel that had a good point on the tip and felt strong/well made. I had no problem with it bending or anything breaking even with hard use in dry clay soil for several days. It was a good price for what it is and MUCH better than the last couple of shovels that I owned. April 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT short handled shovel As a short person I prefer a shovel with a short handle so I can get good leverage. This shovel works great. July 9, 2013
