I bought this a year ago but didn't use it very much until this year. I started taking out some bushes along my driveway and always thought the handle was going to break. It never did, but the shovel head bent sideways about 30 degrees. Ames is working with me to send a replacement. I think its good for some jobs, but not heavy duty.

Sturdy dug up the ground just fine no flexing in the shaft the wife liked the lip on the èdg to step on the only drawback is the dog didn't like chewing on the handle (she always chews my wood handles)

I had only used this shovel three or four times. The last time I was digging out an old shrub and the shovel snapped from the green material near the based the entire way up. It seemed like the wood was weak, that's the only thing that I can think of because I'm a tiny 120 pound girl with bird arms. I wouldn't recommend this shovel. Buy something better quality that will last.

Very heavy duty shovel. I have used it so much since I got it. I had a lot of planting to do and had to dig up some plants and re-landscape the side of the house. It has been a work horse for me.

I bought this shovel to unload a few yards of dirt to spread out in my yard...it worked great! Some shovels are flimsy or break when too much pressure is used. Not this one!

Bent the first day it was used. Cheap, but get a better shovel.
