Answer:
There are only two wheels on this cart therefor there is no "wheel base" If you are asking how far apart the wheels are, they are about 30" outside hub to hub. If you are going though a tight place , you will need at least 31" to get by carefully.

Answer:
We had to put on the axle, wheels and handles. For the most part it was very easy to do. The only thing I might suggest is to have some tape handy to hold the bolts in place to tighten them, the fit is not quit tight enough to hold them in place otherwise. Other than that very small blip, it was quit easy. ( Our fingers don't work as well as the once upon at time did and we made it just fine)

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 41 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent yard cart This cart is very sturdy, will haul a lot over bumpy ground; dumps cleanly. You would have to try hard to spill a load with this one! July 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Wheel Barrel ever My old steel wheel barrel wore out after 22 years. Hopefully this new Ames wheel barrel will last just as long or more. The Ames is a lot lighter & easier to maneuver. The looped handles make it a lot easier to grip. The Ames is a great unit & I'm enjoying using it. Excellent design & operations. Cool product! Thank you March 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Total Control Garden Cart Very easy to control with a heavy load of rocks. For the price I would have thought that the plastic bed would have been more sturdy. If you want something lightweight to tag along with you and don't need to depend on it for heavy loads then it is the perfect item. Steers easily. I think I needed a wheel barrow with a metal liner for what I had in mind for my project but this will be an asset for my future needs. July 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very good product We love our new cart. I got it for my husband for his birthday. It is the right height for him and the handles are long enough that he doesn't keep kicking it when he is using it and if he is pulling it behind him it doesn't keep hitting his heels. The ONLY thing we could find wrong with the cart was not the cart itself but one of the tires, it kept going flat. It took my husband two tries but he got it fixed. Now we are VERY HAPPY with this cart. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Lightweight, sturdy and well balanced. Only thing missing is a tool holder on the back of the bucket. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ames Super Great Garden cart!! Great cart..easy to handle, nice tray, just a good garden cart! June 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very easy to move around. Light weight. Center of load low to ground making it easy to move in yard or on cement. June 15, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by nice light weight cart, tires are a problem I like this cart for it's stability and light weight, my wife loves it for it's ease of use and easy to push and pull. But after just 9 months the tires cracked and went flat. I started to take the tires off the rims to replace and the rubber tire almost disintegrated in my hand. I'm replacing them with some USA made tires that will hold up quite a bit longer. April 28, 2016
