What is the wheel base?

Asked by: Curious
There are only two wheels on this cart therefor there is no "wheel base" If you are asking how far apart the wheels are, they are about 30" outside hub to hub. If you are going though a tight place , you will need at least 31" to get by carefully.

5 cu. ft. Total Control Garden Cart is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terrible design The garden cart was exactly what I wanted until I got it home. Although the the size is perfect, the design is flawed and flimsy! The left wheel was warped, so I returned it to Home Depot only to find all the others have the same problem. I would never recommend this product to anyone.

No center handle bar so able to adjust hold depending on load. Tires come very under coated. Instructions say 30 psi made but tires say 40 psi so settled for 35. Missing important bolt so have to wait 7-10 days for replacement (using different size own replacement for now). Instructions for assembly could be much clearer so follow the holes in barrel and intuition if puzzled. Easier two person assembly or tape bolt heads to prevent them from always falling out of holes when barrel is turned over to add nuts. Despite these negatives, highly recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I goo option of right occasional use This is my third card, the first was a large garden way that was superb but far too large after several moves. I bought a rubbermaid cart with small wheels. The wheels make moving it hard and its handles are too short. Its feet have sharp edges so it smarts every time I ht them then pulling the cart. Pushing is a bit better bit the short handle and small wheels make pushing it very challenging. The Ames cart has nice long handles and large wheels. From other reviews it seems this cart does not do well in sustained , heavy load use but I expect to use it only a few times a year and its first outing it was much more useful and much less painful than the rubbermaid cart. Assembly is a bit tricky but all the parts are there and the issues are not hard for people who have assembled things like this before.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from nice light weight cart, tires are a problem I like this cart for it's stability and light weight, my wife loves it for it's ease of use and easy to push and pull. But after just 9 months the tires cracked and went flat. I started to take the tires off the rims to replace and the rubber tire almost disintegrated in my hand. I'm replacing them with some USA made tires that will hold up quite a bit longer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from worst purchase ever I purchased the cart about 5 months ago at Navy Exchange Jax, Fl. From day one, it was difficult to keep bags in the cart because the tray was constantly shifting. I attempted to resolve the issue by tightening the bolts. To my dismay, both handle bars broke off at the bolts. On 24 July, I called Ames Customer Service at tel. 800-393-1846. A recording advised that all agents were busy, but I could leave a detailed message and my telephone call would be returned ASAP. I gave my name, my tel no, and desc of my problem with Ames cart. NO PHONE CALL YET.
