Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Deloppoled Excellent rake, the steel handle is sure to last a long time
By far the best rake that I've ever had. It collects up the leaves like a rake really should. The steel handle is sure to last a lifetime until I run it over with a bulldozer, which won't happen because I don't have a bulldozer or even know how to drive one for that matter. The one thing that does irk me is that while all of the Ames tools are designed in the USA, the video is misleading making it sound like their tools are all made in the USA which is not true. If it wasn't such a good rake, I would ding more than one star for this American company manufacturing their products in foreign lands.

Inexpensive yet durable. Great for light leaf raking or garden soil prep. Probably wouldn't suggest using this for heavy duty work. Does the trick gor the price.

The rake is wider than a normal rake, but yet light enough to easily work it. It saves some time in finishing the job.

This is the best rake I have ever used - it has just the right amount of flex to work the uneven ground surface and just the right amount of rigidity to collect the debris being raked.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JohnD I wouldn't buy it
I bought Ames since the rake was made in the USA. It was more expensive than the Taiwanese or other alternatives. The problem I have with the rake is the company backing it. I bought the rake and the handle broke while raking leaves. The rake had a 15 year warranty so I called Ames customer service for a replacement. The woman said send pictures of the broken product and they would get back to me. I sent pictures to her email address and heard nothing back. I contacted them again and they did not respond back to me. I sent copies of the emails to the president of Ames in NYC telling him that his customer service people where not servicing their customers and that not responding to communications was a poor way to keep customers. I heard nothing back from corporate headquarters. Needless to say I will not be buying another Ames product. Looks like China will get my business from now.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by mvno I put it to the test, result 5/5 stars
I had a few areas that were badly neglected (by the people before me). All kinds of leaves under hedges and soggy, almost mulch build up of leaves under a large tree. End result I used this rake over a few weeks to clean the entire yard. The rake never had a problem. The tines stood their ground, didn't separate and easily handled the tough areas. Overall, the rake is sturdy and well built. Incidentally I raked up over 8 large yard and garden bags of heavy, soggy, wet leaves (Florida, so they'll never dry out). One of the bags weighed about 35 pounds. The rake handled it all and is still in one piece. I'm keeping it and I'd buy another if I have to.
