I felt the part of handle snap within a week. Today, after one season of light use, the rubber/plastic finally snapped into two pieces. Poor quality. I gave it 2 starts because it did help me remove weeds, and I am able to salvage it with a wood shim (from a paint stirring stick) and some duct tape.

Had high hopes for this as a weeder but chose to go back to my trusty long, narrow flat bladed screwdriver. It did the work in half the time than what the weeder accomplished.
It has a good handle, feel to the hand but it just wasn't up to the task. It's too bad because I purchased two, only to return the other. I could have returned the one we kept but we already put it through some testing and wouldn't feel right to bring back the used tool.

I had weeds in soil that was very rocky, so using a trowel or shovel did not work. This weeder is strong enough not to bend and small enough to get in between the rocks and loosen the weed roots. The handle does not make my hand sore like the trowel did. I highly recommend it!

ERGO GEL-GRIP HAND WEEDER
*The soft gel grip is indeed grippable.
*The stem of the tool does not extend sufficiently far through the handle.
--- Comment: This results in the handle bending when you try to pry out a stubborn weed. Granted, the tool is not a pry-bar, but I don't feel I should need to use a shovel in tandem with this tool when weeding.

Eight bucks for a hand weeder? A little much. Your son removing texas grass from the lush bermuda in your front lawn? Priceless!
