Any guages needed to replace expansion tank?

My pressure relief valve on my water heater drips even after I replaced it, so I now think it is an expansion tank problem. I have an existing Therm-X-Trol ST-5, and looked up the instructions on line. They said I needed pressure gauges and would have to adjust the tank pressure. I have city water in Atco, NJ. Can I do this myself if I buy a tank?
Asked by: Mike
Yes, a water pressure gauge to see what your water pressure is at the faucet to determine pressure needed to charge tank and a regular tire pressure gauge to check tank pressure.

Asked by: Jake
I did not have to. I just turn down the heat on the water heater and cut the water supply.

Did the job in controlling the thermal expansion. Without it functioning, the PSI would fluctuate from 70 lbs to 140 lbs when the water is heated up. I have a recirculator on a timer. Was easy to replace. The old one was full of water and it was a little heavy. Easy to add PSI to the bladder.

Quality product--My tank was charged at 55 lbs out of the box-had to lower it a bit-no issues. This was a direct replacement so install was a breeze. We'll see how long she lasts as not much info on longevity-but I would think it would be dependent on the amount of pressure needed.
