Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JMc16 Sturdy and fantastic looking storm door
Door was installed by a local handyman in approximately 2.5 hours. It is very sturdy and looks fantastic. It also closes nice and slowly so that the door doesn't slam. It keeps the cold out great when the front door is open inside the house and the self storing screen is very smooth. We can't wait to use it once the weather warms up! Convenient foot tap button to lock door in open position as well!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sobelle Awesome Door !
Contrary to some of the negative comments, this is NOT a flimsy door at all and the screen is enclosed on the sides so I can't see how bugs can possibly get in (as mentioned in one of the posts.) It was very windy recently and neither the screen or door ever budged! It is a quality product and everything that I expected it to be. I had it installed through Home Depot and the installer is very familiar with the product (mine was the 8th one he installed in the same week). He said that this Anderson 3000 line is a particulary good product. Do not hesitate to purchase it, and make sure you have Home Depot do the installation !

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by PJCIII Don't buy this if you are buying it for the Andersen name...
... it is made by EMCO. Anderson owns EMCO, but they seem to operate independently. When I needed two very small parts (a latch screw and a closer pin) I was transferred to EMCO's customer service department which was a call center in the Philippines. Both times I was told I had to order the entire assembly ($20 + shipping each time) to get the item I needed. Both times Andersen said I shouldn't have to do that, but they still sent me to the EMCO CSRs who said that was the only way to get the parts.
I actually expected more from Andersen. Very disappointing service.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by nda2991 screen comes out and doesn't go back in. don't buy!!!!!!!!
A year or two after install of a very, very expensive door the screen became detached to the point of not going back into the track. Anderson will not replace because it has been over a year. Do not buy this door. The self-storing mechanism doesn't work!!!! It will work for a little while but will become detached. Very upset with customer service (Indian) with Anderson Window and door. They don't stand behind their product.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Beebers Not easy to install
The in store marketing claims "45 mins to Install" and the box says "Easy Install" but buyer beware. This door was anything but easy to install! It requires many tools that aren't listed on the box and the instructions are not easy to follow or understand. You have to even create your own holes in the door to attach the handles which aren't the easiest to do. I even tried to pull up online video's to do the install but again very frustrating! If your not handy or have lots of tools do not buy this door thinking it will be easy to install in 45 mins. I think it ended up taking me 4 days with the help of neighbors cutting and drill bit tools.

NOT RECOMMENDED: What a disappointment. This door is not the quality I expected from Anderson. The latch to hold up the window is made of cheap plastic and takes too much force to make it latch. Once latched, the window seal is crooked, with a gap on one end. The self storing screen needs some improvements. The door does not fully latch without giving the handle a tug, which I am afraid will cause problems later on with the handle. They are clearly using the Anderson name to make a few bucks on this door. I DO NOT recommend this door. If you do buy one, pay the $97 to have it installed. It took way too long to install.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Steve A great product.
I have a bad habit of reading reviews after I buy a product. I'm glad I didn't do it this time because I may have looked at something else. Some of the detractors are dead wrong. This is a very high quality product. It was much easier to install than indicated in the directions, which are way too complicated for the average home owner (or a person with little patience). In my case, the door and frame fit right in perfectly level with no cutting. After that the peripherals went on without a hitch. Everything works fine; the screen is smooth, the closer somewhat better quality than the average and the lock ( I chose the nickel, not the brass) is very sturdy. My only issue was figuring out how to free the door from the orange retainer in the lock area. After that it was a piece-o-cake. Overall, the actual installation took about an hour.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Donallen OMG what a piece of junk.
Let me first say that I had an Anderson sliding patio door and it was a great product but the complete opposite is true for this door. This door was built on a great idea and that's where it stops, the door is a piece of junk, every time the wind blows the screen comes out of the track, the door closer didn't last more than a year when it went bad the hinge went bad. I would NEVER BUY THIS DOOR AGAIN. So far I have returned the original door and gotten another door ( the same model number ) thinking I might have gotten a bad door, but no luck, replaced the screen assembly, hinge assembly, and door closer at this point I'm going to replace the door with a different brand.
