after installing the door it was not possible to get it to close completely with the entry door closed due to airlock between doors. I called the anderson help phone & they were anything but helpful. The door needs either a second closer or a stronger one. All the help line people told me was they never had this problem before and in effect it was my problem.

Beautiful door. Relatively easy to install, you don't have to install the frame then hang the door, it goes up as one piece. Screen a little hard to use, stiff. Air seal too good, if inner door is closed, air pressure won't let closer completely shut the storm, have to leave the screen open a little to let out air. Issue is probably in the closer, not very strong, even after adjusting up or down.

I bought this to replace an older, lighter-weight door. This is more substantial and self-stores the screen for the top half of the door glass. The step-by-step instructions were great and installation went very smoothly. Very happy with this purchase.

Bought this as a replacement door. They say it takes 45 min to install but give yourself more like and hour and a half just to make sure you read all the directions. Very well built. As long as you have some basic skills and can follow directions you can put the door in.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by lalo The screen could have had a support bar across the middle for added strenght.
I made sure all parts were in the shipping, but should have inspected the door more. Had a bad scrap on lower part of door on both sides of one side. I hade to sand and repair it and piant. Just didn't want to return it and wait for the new one to come in when it was getting colder and closer to winter. I will made sure I inspect it more on anything else and will return it. And go else where for it. I just hope it was your contractor who ship it and not at the factory. otherwise please with home depot's products and service.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tony The pull down screen and the easy door stop works extremely well.
I know when you read on a product and it tells you easy install that it's never the case. But this time was not the case. The door went up and I was finished faster then I would have ever guessed. The fit was great and the ease of operation was even better. My storm door has been up for well over a month now and looks great. I am very pleased.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Randy Mid grade door higher price, no better quality.
I installed my 3000 series self storing door 1 year ago. In the winter, the latch which holds the window up in the closed position self detaches and allows the window to drop without notice. The coil spring does not fully retract, leaving the screen folded and exposed under the top stile. In the summer, the same coil puts substantial tension on the screen, helping to tear from or pull out of the lower attachment point. The stiles are not rigid enough to prevent racking and the leading edge of the door ends up binding on the threshold.
This door was purchased from Home Depot in Manchester, NH

There is no doubt this is a good door that will last a long time. One problem is that the retractable screen sticks a bit at the top and one has to fiddle with it to get it totally retracted. I would say for me two hours is more realistic for installation as you have to read it completely a few times. Also the instructions for the lock installation don't explain the parts of the assembly well and I have no idea what the spring loaded part on the top of assembly above the handle even does if anything. Maybe it's purpose is to look pretty. Also when I called for additional help, I thought the woman's accent on the other end of the line impeded our progress considerably. I had to ask her to keep repeating. At full adjustment the door does not open completely unless you release the mechanism which is very easy to do.
