Customer Questions & Answers

This door was purchased in 1999...the receipts lists it as this door...HOW do I remove the movable glass window to clean the other side of it?

can't find the manual but that glass has to come out some way to clean it.
Asked by: Martha
I sprayed mine with window cleaner and then hosed it down - when it dried it was perfectly clean.

Asked by: ROSE
Thank you for your question. The Andersen 2000 Series Self-Storing Storm Door has a retractable insect screen that disappears into the top of the door panel when not in use for anytime ventilation. The insect screen is attached to the upper ventilating window. The ventilating window can be moved up and down by using/releasing the window latches. The window latches also lock the window into a certain position. Customer Reviews

32 in. x 80 in. 2000 Series White Universal Self-Storing Aluminum Storm Door with Nickel Hardware is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from This door is terrible. I have had this door up for 6 months. During that time period the screen came out and I ordered a new one. A new one didn't matter to this evil door. Then the glass at the top started falling down so I had to use mending plates to fix it. Last week the rubber part thats seperates the top glass from the bottom started coming apart which will make the glass come out. This door is terrible. Please if you can find another door do so.The name brand in this case isn't what you want.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from We recently purchased two of these doors. I really liked the self storing screen. The only problem that we have had is that the door leaks at the bottom of the glass around the door frame. Both of these doors did this so I feel that it is a problem with the door.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from UPDATE TO PREVIOUS POST I contacted Andersen Customer Support and explained the problems to them. Found out most parts were covered under warranty (Sliding window). For the parts not covered (Hide away screen and tracks) they took my order over the phone. Parts arrived a few days later. Door is now repaired and working again. Kudos to Andersen help line & customer service.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Door I purchased this model after initially looking to by the EMCO 400 series door, which was a little cheaper. While looking at the doors, the Andersen 2000 seemed more durable and more visually appealing. This door was fairly easy to install (about 2 hours). If the door was less expensive, this door would have been a 5.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great for a little while, then it fell apart! I have owned this door for 2 years now, and it fell apart right after the warranty was up! The screen broke, the glass separated from the door... we called Andersen, but because it's not under warranty, they offered to send us a new piece of glass (???) for $80. (!!!) When I argued with the guy, he lowered it to $50. SHADY! I thought Andersen had a great reputation, but not on THIS product or their customer service. This door deserves a big F.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Anderson Storm Door - great project My teenage daughter and I installed this door in one day as a project. We spent quite a while going over the instructions and laying out the parts. Some careful measuring was required since our opening wasn't precisely square. Some adjustment was needed to matching the multi-step door opening molding. Bottom line is the door works great. We like the self storing screen and had the lock keyed to match the entry door, a real convenience. Strongly recommended - much better than the simple storm door it replaced and usable year round.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from broke already The door does not keep out the cold as much as I had hoped, despite being painstakingly installed by a perfectionist. It also did not come with a chain and the wind caught it and the piston that closes the door was easily damaged. The door now sticks open about 8 inches until you pull it and pop it bak into place. Not the quality I expected for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good enough for the in-laws too! A year ago we bought this door in the 36 in. for the front. My in-laws were visiting after I installed it. They were so impressed that they bought one for their new addition to their home. For my first door, it was easy to install and the directions were simple. Easy enough for one person to install, not too heavy and closes air tight. The roller screen is well hidden and there have been no problems with the screen or the tracks.
