We're refurbishing a 1960 home. The old storm door was divided into 3rds obliterating the lovely raised panels on the original door.
So my fave feature is the full glass view which shows the details. See pics. The BONUS feature primary reason i chose this door over others is that button on the bottom that allows the door to stay open. Now I can open/close that without having to call hubby, a great feature for shorter folks. Im 5 2
Door feels heavy and sturdy. Installation was easy. READ THE DIRECTIONS to understand.
There needs to be a redesign on the threshold sweep at bottom. WAY TOO SHORT as some others mentioned. Had to go get a longer one. Even with that we are very pleased.
Also nice was that the door was on sale which I love Home Depot's sales...helps stretch my remodel budget.

I was a little apprehensive buying this door due to my limited DIY skills, but I went slow and followed the excellent instructions and it went in without problems. Having Anderson Windows and sliders in my house my expectations were high and I wasn't disappointed. It took an afternoon to install but if I installed another it would probably take an hour or two.

I didn't personally install it but was told that it was a little more difficult than some doors to hang. Of course it was cheaper than some doors also. Overall, I really like it.

So glad I paid for the installation. The installer did a great job. This door isn't double-pained, which I hadn't noticed prior to buying. But it is nice and will serve us well.

It took a bit to install since the directions were not the easiest to follow. The only issue that I had was when you screw the bottom hole of the top hinge in the pre drilled hole on the door it did not allow for the hinge frame to be 1/8 inch above the door and that messed up the clearance needed for the rain guard. Now the door rubs against the rain guard on the hinge side not allowing it to close all the way on its own.

I replaced a storm door with this door. It was easy to install by myself. The directions were easy to follow. The only trouble I had was with attaching the hinge to the door, the photo isn't very clear. The screws for each step are in color coded bags which is very helpful. It took me aproximately 2 hours. I had never hung a storm door before.

I was very surprised at how easy the door went up. We usually run into problems doing anything to our old house, but there were no problems with installation. The only thing I would say is the the sweeper on the bottom is about an inch too short. Which is not a big deal but I will probably replace it. I don't intend on switching out the glass for the screen so I cant comment on that. I really liked the screw covers it came with, the storm door we were replacing didn't have that. Look great, really happy with it.

I was convinced that I would not be able to handle installing this door myself. Other than asking my contractors to lift the heavy door off of my car and leave it at the front door, I did everything myself!! Well, except for installing the most important piece -- the part that allows you to keep the door open and allows it to close slowly. I could not figure that part out and could NOT get it to attach properly. I called Andersen and was told the part was broken. While I was waiting for the replacement part (which never came) my contractor was able to show me that the original part did work. He installed that one piece and now everything works perfectly. Everything else about the installation was very very simple. The door works perfectly. It is substantial and not at all flimsy. It is also very good looking. Fear not. You really can install this yourself.
