Answer:
Thank you for your query. Please go to http://stormdoors.com/install/#swap for a video on how to replace the screen and window. You may choose the video for Andersen 3000 Fullview since they have the same procedure on how to swap the screen/window. You may also access manual on that link under Installation Tab. - Joyce

I currently have a top of the line anderson storm door( 4000 I think) and I have to get rid of it since the glass portion is over 50 pounds. I cannot handle it when changing from storm door to screen door

So the question is how much does the glass portion alone weigh???

I hate to make this change but I have to. I have a pella in another lace and it is easy to handle. single glass I guess.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 62 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice door I was very surprised at how easy the door went up. We usually run into problems doing anything to our old house, but there were no problems with installation. The only thing I would say is the the sweeper on the bottom is about an inch too short. Which is not a big deal but I will probably replace it. I don't intend on switching out the glass for the screen so I cant comment on that. I really liked the screw covers it came with, the storm door we were replacing didn't have that. Look great, really happy with it. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Storm Door I was convinced that I would not be able to handle installing this door myself. Other than asking my contractors to lift the heavy door off of my car and leave it at the front door, I did everything myself!! Well, except for installing the most important piece -- the part that allows you to keep the door open and allows it to close slowly. I could not figure that part out and could NOT get it to attach properly. I called Andersen and was told the part was broken. While I was waiting for the replacement part (which never came) my contractor was able to show me that the original part did work. He installed that one piece and now everything works perfectly. Everything else about the installation was very very simple. The door works perfectly. It is substantial and not at all flimsy. It is also very good looking. Fear not. You really can install this yourself. June 29, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Storm door Door looks good and install was not too difficult, and after a few backwards steps fit and finish were good. June 28, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not what we had hoped for We recently purchased this door, and it has a cheap mechanism which does not allow the door to close and properly lock each time it is used. If you were to close it ten times, five out of those ten would close and lock properly and five would not. It is installed correctly. We are disappointed with the purchase and will be returning the product as soon as possible. June 5, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Loving my new storm Door Very elegant and easy to install I recommend this product. April 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this door! I purchased this door online for in store pickup. I am 100% satisfied with my purchase. Installation was easy, and the door looks great!! I also love that I was able to get a nickel handle instead of just brass. March 19, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value This door is good the the price. We liked the fact that is has a dead bolt lock & keys, would be nice lto get two door with same keys. Hope the second door can be re-keyed, too many keys to up keep. Main problem, it's too wide for our door opening, eventhough we have a 36 inch interior door. It might be less of a struggle if this is a new install and not an add-on. For us, we have to trimmed down one side of the exterior trim by .5 inch to have it fit. We decided to trimmed the hinged side for better esthetic reason. It was very frustrating, there's no adjusment to the door frame width. The next size down is 32 inches. Another problem, the door height is 1 inch too short, sooo...we have to added a piece of lumber to the header to cover the gap, the added extenson helps but did not solved the problem. This has to be done before the metal header gets attach. The bottom gasket could be wider. This door was the tallest in height available, unless it is customized to the exact size. DO NOT pre-drill when installing the bottom piece, the screws will stripped. One door has closure locking lable, the other one does not (go figure). Bottom line, the door is short and wide, too bad the manufacture and builder are not on the same page on their dimensions. Be prepare to be VERY FRUSTRATED! March 15, 2016
