I have owned this door for 2 years now, and it fell apart right after the warranty was up! The screen broke, the glass separated from the door... we called Andersen, but because it's not under warranty, they offered to send us a new piece of glass (???) for $80. (!!!) When I argued with the guy, he lowered it to $50. SHADY! I thought Andersen had a great reputation, but not on THIS product or their customer service. This door deserves a big F.

I contacted Andersen Customer Support and explained the problems to them. Found out most parts were covered under warranty (Sliding window). For the parts not covered (Hide away screen and tracks) they took my order over the phone. Parts arrived a few days later. Door is now repaired and working again. Kudos to Andersen help line & customer service.

My father in law and I installed this door the 2000 series 6 years ago for our front door and now it's falling apart. The molding between the glass and the track is falling out with the glass is exposed now. The inside door lock is almost impossible to turn without pliers. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this door. I'm surprised Home Depot still offers this model for sale as the 2500 series has a new design. Totally disappointed in the quality of Anderson.

I have already left a review for this product. But I will gladly leave another. Since I don't recall what I said before other than it took awhile for us to get it to fit, and two trips to Home Depot for different gadgets to get it to fit, it was well worth it. I love my door. It is very pretty, by that I mean it is so much brighter in my house now. It faces north so I always have a breeze flowing through to my living room and my dinning area. I'm well pleased with my door and I recommend the product, and the seller 100%.

I installed this same type door approximately two years ago on my own and had no problems. The Home Depot contractor installed this door on 11 January 2012. He did an excellent job with the parts that were provided with the door, however I couldn't help but notice that the shanks of the screws showed behind the hinge side z-bar. The other door I installed had the screw shanks hidden. So I measured the rain cap and found it to be 33 1/2 inches long, called the Anderson "Solution Center" on the 12th of January and was told that the cap should be 33 7/8 inches long. I guess the Anderson/Emco factory needs to "measure twice and cut once". Poor factory quality assurance. I attempted to get the right part. I still have not received the replacement part from Anderson even though they told me that I would receive the part in 2-3 business days by the 16th of January (Wednesday) . I called again on the 17th of January (Thursday) in the afternoon since I hadn't received the part and the "Solution Center" couldn't figure out what happened to my rain cap shipment. I told them that now I wanted the rain cap "overnighted" by UPS and they said it would be delivered on the 18th of January (Friday). Well, the 18th of January arrived and no part again. I called the "Solution Center" once again and they said I would receive my rain cap on the 21st of January which is Monday. Unbelievable. All through this I have been attempting to reschedule the "repair installation" with the Home Depot Installer and he has been more than understanding with all the schedule changes. He just wants to make sure it is "right". I appreciate that. However, I would never buy an Anderson/Emco product again. The customer service is atrocious as is the quality control with this door. Additionally, if anyone else had this door installed or installed it yourself check the dimension of the rain cap. It might be short. The attached pictures show how the screws will look with the rain cap being too short. It doesn't afford the hinge side z bar to butt up close enough to the brick molding.

My teenage daughter and I installed this door in one day as a project. We spent quite a while going over the instructions and laying out the parts. Some careful measuring was required since our opening wasn't precisely square. Some adjustment was needed to matching the multi-step door opening molding.
Bottom line is the door works great. We like the self storing screen and had the lock keyed to match the entry door, a real convenience. Strongly recommended - much better than the simple storm door it replaced and usable year round.

I liked this door at first. It was so easy to just pull down the screen even if I seldom did this. Perhaps a dozen (or fewer) times up and down and the screen was waving in the breeze. the roller( which is hidden from view) for the screen has cheap plastic ends that just broke off from those few uses. No fixing the roller, just ordering a new one for $35. I'm selling the house so hope the new owners have better luck but if it's the same plastic, they won't.

I have had this door up for 6 months. During that time period the screen came out and I ordered a new one. A new one didn't matter to this evil door. Then the glass at the top started falling down so I had to use mending plates to fix it. Last week the rubber part thats seperates the top glass from the bottom started coming apart which will make the glass come out. This door is terrible. Please if you can find another door do so.The name brand in this case isn't what you want.
