Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Geneva65 Nice Door - one design flaw
The door seems to be of good quality. Installation was quite easy and took about an hour. It fit perfectly in the door opening. Self storing feature is nice and will be welcome when seasons change. One design flaw to mention. The top glass does not retract fully down to the lower part of the door, leaving around 1" of the bottom channel showing. This is even more pronounced if you install the Anderson handle. I took the handle off and it improves the situation but I would think the top and bottom glass panels should be even when the top glass is pushed down. If I had know this, I would have installed the full lite door and suffered with taking the class out when it warms up.

I had a contractor install it as I am not handy. He did it in 30 minutes easily. Good looking, solid door. "Love the screen.

Door handles were very poor quality ~ made of plastic and kept falling off and had to use older 'brass look' handles ~ was not particularly easy to install ~ One door arrived without a handle ~ Not happy but doors are in and holding ~

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Kevin Andersen 2500 Series Storm Door
Andersen 2500 Self Storing storm door: JUNK! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY PURCHASING ANDERSEN PRODUCTS
1) Instructions are like reading a bad translation from chinese to English that was written by a 5 year
old kid. The pictures in the instructions are even worse...THROW OUT THE INSTRUCTIONS AND
SPEND THE TIME FIGURING IT OUT ON YOUR OWN
2) Materials are of poor quality. Screws: each screw type has a different bit size and are too short to do
much good; Striker plate is thin and flimsy; door materials are cheap and thin
3) On door fits both applications (really?) Left or Right Opening Door: Now this is complete idiocy.
These doors require a person to drill the lock and handle holes depending on which opening you
need. Once everything is drilled out, a person is left with the shavings/filings all inside the door frame
and in between the windows and frame. Listen Andersen, just make left and right opening doors.
AGAIN, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME PURCHASING THESE PRODUCTS. TOO MUCH WORK, TOO MUCH FRUSTRATION for a storm door install.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by huckleberry Good product
This was special order from HD as they did not carry in the store in my neighborhood. Delivery took about 2-1/2 weeks and I picked it up at the store with no problems. Directions were clear and complete. Door was easy to assemble and install. It was a little heavy, but was easy with two people. It appears to be a well made product and operates smoothly. I really like the built in screen - screen retracts within the upper frame of the door and is attached to the the glass in the upper half of the door - as you drop glass down for ventilation, the screen follows. Slick. I expect this to operate well for me the next 10 years.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Edgar I have this door. It is poorly designed
The item uses the frame on the handle side as the strike plate which would be ok if the lock bolt latched, but it does not.
I was told that I had to move the door out 1/32 of an inch, but the reality is that it is closer to 3/16 of an inch (6x the quoted amount), That makes the door gap too big and presents thermal and security issue.
Anderson absolutley has awful customer service. Worse still is an engineering group who cannot admit fault. That is scary since a malfunctioning lock presents numerous dangers.
They need to either redesign the bolt, or the handle side frame rail to allow the bolt to sit properly. DO NOT BUY until they do.
The big issue is that the instructions dont warn you of this at all and you find out like I did, that the door must be re-installed, and there will be a gap, and the lock cannot be adjusted.
I recommend you try locking the door from the outside using the key. I tried to have the Home depot team show me how to do it, and it did not even work in their store.

Ordered in store at Home Depot. I requested a Schlage lock. When it arrived with a Kwikset the salesperson at Home Depot said to just call Anderson and they will send out the correct lock. When I called I was told it would cost me $30.
About 1 week after install, the door stopped closing. Anderson said it was due to wind damage and refused to honor their warranty. They wanted $17 more dollars to send the replacement part.
I attempted to return the door to Home Depot, but they won't take it since it's been installed.
Very un-happy. I have a door that doesn't close and doesn't use the same locks as my house.

Very good quality high-performance door. Excellent easy-to-follow instructions. The hardest part of the install was snapping in the plastic screw covers!
