Understood. However, the HOA mandates two closers on storm doors, meaning this model is unacceptable.

Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Andersen 3000 Series White Self-Storing Storm Door. This storm door comes with one push button closer. Installing an additional closer at the top of the door panel may damage the insect screen mesh or the screen cover plate. If these components become damaged while installing an additional closer they will be excluded from limited warranty coverage. -Ben

Under specs, it says opening was 40 x 92.5. Is that for the rough opening? I am looking for an assembly that is 36 x 84.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great door This is an awesome full view storm door !! I have been looking at tons of them over several months. This is top of the line and was at a great discount too !! July 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Anderson storm door This storm door is awesome!!! Wish I had got this 1 earlier. June 7, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT BUY THIS DOOR!!!! Does not close without manually pushing shut when interior door is closed DO NOT BUY THIS DOOR!!!! This is a perfect door if your house does not have an interior door. It closes perfectly when the interior door is open, but does not close when the interior door is shut, unless you manually push it shut. I went on Anderson's website, and apparently this is a known issue because they have list several things to try to fix it. Unfortunately, the only one that works is to leave the screen door completely open. Great, just what I wanted to door in the middle of the winter! I called Anderson, and they say this is a common issue, but not a "warranty" issue, sorry. I will be taking it back to Home Depot before the wind rips it off the hinges. December 29, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible Design and poor response I had the Series 3000 installed in August and it looked great. The retractable screen was a feature we were looking forward to but after an evening or two we noticed excess bugs in the house. Upon inspection, when the screen is used, the seal does not make contact and a "Bug Highway" occurs. I went back to HD and verified mine was not a defect, the design was the same. On Sept 10th, 2012 I contacted EMCO with pictures and waited for a response; nothing occurred. On Sept 29th I sent a follow up email and the response was quick assuring me they would look into this. On Dec 1st, I sent an inquiry as I had heard NOTHING. I then got a response stating EMCO felt nothing was wrong and they they were done with my claim. Folks, the design has a flaw, bugs will get in easily, EMCO has TERRIBLE RESPONSE TIME and then walks away form their product. December 1, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sturdy and fantastic looking storm door Door was installed by a local handyman in approximately 2.5 hours. It is very sturdy and looks fantastic. It also closes nice and slowly so that the door doesn't slam. It keeps the cold out great when the front door is open inside the house and the self storing screen is very smooth. We can't wait to use it once the weather warms up! Convenient foot tap button to lock door in open position as well! March 19, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Longevity issues After three years of use the door latch spring failed and the door would not latch. I call the company and their response was the latch warranty is one year and you have to purchase the entire kit for $67. My response was that I thought $67 dollars for a weak spring was way too much to which the parts rep responded that that was the price, take it or do without. December 14, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not easy to install The in store marketing claims "45 mins to Install" and the box says "Easy Install" but buyer beware. This door was anything but easy to install! It requires many tools that aren't listed on the box and the instructions are not easy to follow or understand. You have to even create your own holes in the door to attach the handles which aren't the easiest to do. I even tried to pull up online video's to do the install but again very frustrating! If your not handy or have lots of tools do not buy this door thinking it will be easy to install in 45 mins. I think it ended up taking me 4 days with the help of neighbors cutting and drill bit tools. May 23, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Have it installed by a professional installer. I have installer many storm doors, but this was a frustrating experience. The instructions were confusing and it took at least 8 hours to install. I did not read the reviews before I bought it. What bothers me is the push button closer, it would not retract. Then the instructions said to install a standard closer in it's place. I would expect for the price I paid that the standard closer would be included. I hope I don't experience the problems with the roll down screen that other people have experenced. I believe I would have been better getting a less expensive door but since it was made by Andersen I assumed it was a quality product. September 18, 2011
