The narrowest point of our door opening measures 35 5/8". Will this door fit the opening? Does Anderson make any storm door that will?
Asked by: smd51977
Thank you for your inquiry. A 36” x 80” size of door will fit into an entry opening of 35-3/4” to 36-3/8” width and 80” to 80-7/8” height. Based on the measurement that you have provided, you might require a custom size door to fit in your door opening. However, the Andersen 3000 Series Self-Storing Easy Install Storm Door is not available in custom size. You may look into a similar model which is the Andersen 2500 Series Self-Storing Storm Door and is available in custom size. Another option is to modify the brick molding. Please go to the nearest Home Depot store in your area and inquire about the door you like. Kindly provide the measurement of your door entry opening to the store representative to determine the correct size of door you need.- Noel

Dual Closers?

Does this door (36 IN. X 80 IN. 3000 SERIES WHITE SELF-STORING STORM DOOR) have dual, top and bottom, closers?
Asked by: DepotsNutz
Understood. However, the HOA mandates two closers on storm doors, meaning this model is unacceptable.

do any of the andersen 3000 storm doors have a sliding glass pane that exposes a screen when opened

Asked by: don
Thank you for your interest with the Andersen 3000 Series Self-Storing Storm Door. This door has two glass panels: a bottom stationary glass and a movable top glass, and a hide-away insect screen. The top sliding glass is attached to the retractable insect screen and is attached together with a one-hand operation handle for more convenience. The top glass and retractable screen simultaneously move to expose or keep the screen at the top of the door. - Hazel

Customer Reviews

36 in. x 80 in. 3000 Series White Universal Self-Storing Aluminum Storm Door with Brass Hardware is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 60.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Door ! Contrary to some of the negative comments, this is NOT a flimsy door at all and the screen is enclosed on the sides so I can't see how bugs can possibly get in (as mentioned in one of the posts.) It was very windy recently and neither the screen or door ever budged! It is a quality product and everything that I expected it to be. I had it installed through Home Depot and the installer is very familiar with the product (mine was the 8th one he installed in the same week). He said that this Anderson 3000 line is a particulary good product. Do not hesitate to purchase it, and make sure you have Home Depot do the installation !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and fantastic looking storm door Door was installed by a local handyman in approximately 2.5 hours. It is very sturdy and looks fantastic. It also closes nice and slowly so that the door doesn't slam. It keeps the cold out great when the front door is open inside the house and the self storing screen is very smooth. We can't wait to use it once the weather warms up! Convenient foot tap button to lock door in open position as well!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't buy this if you are buying it for the Andersen name... ... it is made by EMCO. Anderson owns EMCO, but they seem to operate independently. When I needed two very small parts (a latch screw and a closer pin) I was transferred to EMCO's customer service department which was a call center in the Philippines. Both times I was told I had to order the entire assembly ($20 + shipping each time) to get the item I needed. Both times Andersen said I shouldn't have to do that, but they still sent me to the EMCO CSRs who said that was the only way to get the parts. I actually expected more from Andersen. Very disappointing service.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing door NOT RECOMMENDED: What a disappointment. This door is not the quality I expected from Anderson. The latch to hold up the window is made of cheap plastic and takes too much force to make it latch. Once latched, the window seal is crooked, with a gap on one end. The self storing screen needs some improvements. The door does not fully latch without giving the handle a tug, which I am afraid will cause problems later on with the handle. They are clearly using the Anderson name to make a few bucks on this door. I DO NOT recommend this door. If you do buy one, pay the $97 to have it installed. It took way too long to install.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from screen comes out and doesn't go back in. don't buy!!!!!!!! A year or two after install of a very, very expensive door the screen became detached to the point of not going back into the track. Anderson will not replace because it has been over a year. Do not buy this door. The self-storing mechanism doesn't work!!!! It will work for a little while but will become detached. Very upset with customer service (Indian) with Anderson Window and door. They don't stand behind their product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Longevity issues After three years of use the door latch spring failed and the door would not latch. I call the company and their response was the latch warranty is one year and you have to purchase the entire kit for $67. My response was that I thought $67 dollars for a weak spring was way too much to which the parts rep responded that that was the price, take it or do without.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from OMG what a piece of junk. Let me first say that I had an Anderson sliding patio door and it was a great product but the complete opposite is true for this door. This door was built on a great idea and that's where it stops, the door is a piece of junk, every time the wind blows the screen comes out of the track, the door closer didn't last more than a year when it went bad the hinge went bad. I would NEVER BUY THIS DOOR AGAIN. So far I have returned the original door and gotten another door ( the same model number ) thinking I might have gotten a bad door, but no luck, replaced the screen assembly, hinge assembly, and door closer at this point I'm going to replace the door with a different brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from VERY DISAPPOINTING I expected much better from Anderson; and especially since this was their 'better' door than one that did the same, for $100 less. I don't have anything good to say about it; cheap; poor design; never has worked right. I have a call into Home Depot right now to get a rep out here because the locking mechanism doesn't work from the outside and never has. It's a piece of junk and I should've read the reviews. Get the other one, for less money.
