The storm door is made extremely well and is heavy duty. The installation was easy and the removal of the double-paned glass to screen took less than a minute. The handset is solid and the lock works well. I purchased three doors and will have them keyed the same. Great features and well-made.

Door was as easy as it could be to install. Just had to follow directions and have tools to trim to size, drill and screw to secure.
My son in law was so impressed with the quality and look of the door I bought him one too!

Eas directions for install, one minute change time from glass to screen or back, toe-tap button to hold door open is great for my disabled wife, and it looks beautiful! We chose to use only the bottom closure so it closed softer, and the directions it says to follow to re-key the lock don't exist. I'd recommend this door to everyone.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Buckeye58 Great Door and Very Easy Install!
Although I have installed many brands of storm doors before, this was the very first Anderson door I have worked with. Even reading the instructions and following them step by step, I was still finished in an hour. If I would have went solely on past experience, 45 minutes would be more than enough time.
Compared to the other brands, this door is a breeze to install. The door comes shimmed within the frame, since it is pre-hung, so there is no worry in getting the door squared and even within the frame. All the parts and pieces are very well laid out. The documentation and instructions are so much better written and easy to understand compared to other brands that there is no equal to this aspect of the product available.
The door itself is very well built and is of the quality that I have not seen in a long time. The finish is perfect and the frame and door is protected with adhesive plastic that peels off when you are done. It's solid and the glass to screen exchange is one of the better ideas and is super easy to do with no tools needed.
There is a trick to installing the screw covers. You angle them into one side of the track and snap the other side in a little at a time. You work your way down the strip and they go in very easily. Once installed, they will never fall out once snapped in. No need to use lubrication or soak them in the sun as others have said.
Very impressed with this unit and I will be recommending this brand from now on. This is a prime example of you getting what you pay for.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Tom This is a top of the line product?
We have a double entry door, so we paid to have our local Home Depot install. The doors look nice. I haven't swapped out the screens for the glass yet, but I'm hoping it will be as easy as it looked in the store.
We have 2 problems. First, the pneumatic closers are only controllable over the last few feet of the close. With the double closer, top and bottom, the door closes very fast, and that's with just the screen (I would think it would be faster with the heavier glass). The door has clipped me in the heel several times, and both of our kids got a few scrapes and scratches. Thankfully only one drew blood. We've gotten used to it, but Anderson says that there is nothing that can be done about it. They did recommend I look into another closer, though! The alternative that they also recommended, and I did, was to disconnect the top closer. That's better, but it's still pretty quick when closing. We've gradually gotten used to it, and I understand the fear of the door being taken by the wind (the reason I was given for the fast initial close), but for a top of the line door, this is frustrating.
But not as frustrating as the other problem. When they install a double storm door, it's basically a right open and a left open with a kit that makes one of them passive. That kit apparently needs a gap in the insulation along the bottom of the door to operate properly. The gap is about 2" wide x 1" high (see photo). Again, they say THERE IS NO SOLUTION! Sorry, actually they did offer two solutions: I rig up some insulation to fill the gap or I could nail a block of wood to the threshold. Seriously!??! Because we live in New England, part of the point of having full glass is so we can open them up on a sunny day in January and get more of that precious winter sunlight. I don't know how I'm going to resolve this, but again, for a top-of-the-line produce, these makeshift solutions are unacceptable. At the very lest, we should have been warned that this installation will have a significant gap.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Noninstaller Great door; 45 min install? No way...
If I were a professional installer and had already installed a dozen or so, MAYBE I could do this in under an hour, but being my home (and I have mad skills with tools and overall construction) this was still a three hour install to do it right. Great door. Also - it comes with a brass handle set included contrary to the past; I made the mistake of ordering an extra handle set and ended up returning it.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by woodx3 Good product with some unusual defects
I first put this door in six months ago . I was very satisfied with the appearance and the ease of installation . Had multiple compliments from neighbors. The reason for the three star quality is that when the rain started this fall the material in the door swelled and the door no longer fits inn the frame as it did when I put it in. I thought the frame I fitted it in had swelled causing the problem , but found I have an eighth inch clearance between door frame and house frame so the only difference has to be in the door it self.It has expanded so that all the screws on the latch side are catching on the fram and not allowing it to close properly.
