It took my contractor a couple hours to install although my historic house required some modifications to make the door sit correctly in the opening. The biggest problem we had was removing and installing the glass. We damaged the strips that hold in the glass when we initially removed the glass and the strips were nearly impossible to get back in place. Anderson is sending me new strips but I guess I will never put the screen in because I would need new strips every time I want to switch from the glass to screen or back. After all the pushing and pulling to get the glass securely in place the door is no longer square and protruding screws along the door edge are now scratching the frame every time I open it. My contractor will have to come back once I have the new strips to fix the screws and install the new strips. Very frustrating!!

I love these Andersen storm doors! We've bought four and this one was by far the easiest to install. Took a half hour or so. It's gorgeous too!

Door closers close door to fast even after max adjustment made. Screen is cheap. It is a nice looking door but functionally not very good. Do not recommend this door,

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CNYTuner The doors added so much to the overall appearance with quality materials
We bought 2 doors and although the 1st took a little longer to install than notated (we are DIY'ers - not professionals), the 2nd one went in quite smoothly...it's just important to thoroughly read the instructions. The materials were very high quality with beautiful handles and closures that worked perfectly. The one on the front of the house really opened up the look and worked well even though we have a 1910 house. Very pleased with the doors which have lived through their first major storm and hope the screen doors live up to the rest of the package

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Oceanbreez61 Still waiting to be installed
There is an item #2 rain cap that show where it goes in the instruction but not how it is positioned. It gets attached to something with predrilled holes but the picture does not show how. There is no written instruction on how it is installed. I have called the company and they were not any help at all. They read the instruction which I could do myself but there was nothing clear. I love the door and can't wait to figure out how it goes in but not good instruction

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by donmon Good door, smooth installation with one glitch
Installation took a longer than the 45 minutes advertised, but that did not surprise me. The instructions were clear and could be followed step-by-step without reading ahead. One nice touch was a complete set of instructions for both left-handed and right-handed doors, so I did not have to keep translating in my head. The only problem came at the very end of the installation, with the brackets for the closers. The supplied screws were 2" long, and they were virtually impossible to screw in all the way to the wood in my door frame. I had to go buy some shorter screws to complete the installation. I would prefer to have more screws for each bracket, but shorter (say 1 1/4" or 1 1/2").
Overall the door looks great and closes reasonably well. I hope it will not have the problem of rotting at the bottom like the much cheaper Anderson doors that are still sold at Home Depot. (Several reviewers noted the problems with those models. This is the third door on this location; the first two both began to rot within a year.)

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LadyDIYer Solid beauty, wish I had done this sooner
Love my new door. Solid construction. Smooth operation. Easy to install (except with a little help with the initial placement, this woman was able to install the door independently). So much quieter then the old door. Easy open, gentle close. Good insulation from inclement weather. Need it? Buy it.
