The width of the frame is 4 9/16". If your wall is thicker, you can purchase extension jambs. If you had additional questions, please visit your local Home Depot or call Andersen at 888-888-7020.- Kimberly

How much is the door unit ? You don't have a price listed. The Norwalk, CT store is nearest to me.

I'm curious why you post prices for almost all items but then some prices aren't posted for others. Why? 72" x 80" andersen Perma- Shield Patio Door

We got the one with the venetian blinds inside the door. One of them broke on the third day. My contractor and the Home Depot salesmen tried for 6 months to get me a new door under Anderson's warranty. I called Anderson on the phone and they had no record of the sale. I offered to send them the bar code on the door but the didn't want it. They finally sent a new door to Home Depot but it didn't come with any paperwork and Home Depot didn't know why the door was sent to them. Anderson didn't want my contractor to install the replacement door (He is the best) they wanted a company 70 miles away to install the door. This company called Home Depot to see when they could pick up the door and Home Depot, since they had no paperwork, wouldn't let them have it. My door has not been replaced. This has been a nightmare. I will not be purchasing any more Anderson products.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy, door does not seal Bought two of these doors and had Home Depot install them. Believe the reviews that this door does not seal properly. When latched, the door just touches the seal. The right side channel is 1/2", the latching plates make up 1/4" and the seal is recessed 1/4". Doesn't add up. Called Andersen, sent pictures and they consider this fine. They are even in Minnesota. There is the latch kit if you wanted to seal it from the outside. This door is great if you are a shut-in that lives in a 70C year round climate with no insects. If you plan on staying outside past this door, need protection from the elements or don't want to hear nearby traffic, stay far away. Considering this is what Andersen calls acceptable quality. I would look at going with Marvin or someone else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent patio door This patio door was recommended to me by three different contractors/installers. Now that it is installed, I can see why. The door was a quick and painless install. Once the handle was secured the door panels create a nice seal on all sides. The weather striping appears heavy duty enough to last long and provide many draft free years. The door rolls smoothly and shuts well even without being locked, when properly leveled. The lock for the screen door is mounted on the inside frame, rather than on the screen door itself. It is a cam style lock, just turn it so the pointed part is facing out when the screen is shut. Nice feature to prevent young children from opening the screen door. I purchased the "dead-bolt" as I've referred to it for added security. I'm not going to test it, but it looks like it will do its job well. It is very easy to operate with you foot. My only wish was that Home Depot would stock an Energy Star rated glass option for this door, I would have happily paid more for the upgraded glass glazing feature. Although the LowE Tempered glass, which is the only in stock (non special order) option from HD at this time, it does not meet US Energy Star standards. However it does meet them established for the southern areas of Canada. I compared the values to my Energy Star rated Pella windows and they are extremely comparable. Bottom line, I would recommend this door to my family and friends. Verify that your installers levels the sliding door itself and that the handle is installed properly to pull the sliding panel snug with the stationary panel when locking.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This door does not close That's right, the only way to close this door is to flip the latch (from the inside). This is because the door has no door jam, I can't understand why. There is no other door like it (except for the Anderson 400 series). I had mine installed this week. The only way to close the door is to latch it from the inside, otherwise, the door remains open. That make this door non-functional as it must remain locked at all times to seal. Homeimproveguy captured the problem perfectly. He referred to other doors having a pocket, I call it a jam. There is no door jam and therefore the door does not close leaving at least a one eighth inch air gap over the length of the jam. That makes this door less energy efficient than the 30 year old aluminum slider that it replaced. Unfortunately, this is not a product that you can take back to the register and get your money back. Once you order this door, you are committed to it. When my wife said she had arranged to have Home Depot install a new Anderson vinyl sliding door, I never thought it would be possible that it wouldn't close. The installers also shared with me that there are a number of people that get this door and observe the same problem. If you intend to install this door in a location where you will not open it, then this might be a good choice for you. I am very disappointed, so much so, that I feel obligated to write my first review of any product to save others from the same mistake.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product We bought this door for our kitchen remodel. It is a solid, well made door. We originally were going to special order the anderson slider, but the HD representative steered us toward this door and said the only difference between special order and the in stock door is that you have to assemble the frame on the in-stock door where the special order comes pre-assembled. So we decided to save the $500 and put the frame together ourselves. Highly recommend this product!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome, Solid Patio Door, Great Quality Just had this door installed yesterday, Great quality, great feel, great sound control. The installers did a perfect job. I don't know what these other reviewers are talking about with this door not closing. It closes fine with no latching needed; maybe they are commenting on a different door or the installation was not correct. I bought the unassembled model, which the installers assembled and installed in about 2 1/2 hours (there was some framing work that needed to be done). Couldn't be happier with this purchase. I strongly recommend this door.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The "cheaper" non-anderson models are better This door looks good but does not seal properly. The installation between the "J" interlock of the two doors failed after one year and now lets in lots of cold air. If the door is not locked at all times there is also no seal between it and the if you go out side during the winter and slide it shut it will not be sealed to prevent drafts. Look at the model compared to the non anderson models...when the other models slid shut theyslide into a pocket in the frame so that it's sealed even if unlocked. I am very disappointed with this door.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy! I was in the market for an inexpensive yet durable patio door. This fit the bill to a tee! It is white vinyl (very low maintanence) yet I still get the sturdiness of the wood core. I've only had to adjust the screen once in the 3 years I've had this door. Highly recommend this door!
