Customer Reviews

72 in. x 80 in. 200 Series Perma-Shield Wood Sliding Patio Door in White, Left-Hand is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent patio door This patio door was recommended to me by three different contractors/installers. Now that it is installed, I can see why. The door was a quick and painless install. Once the handle was secured the door panels create a nice seal on all sides. The weather striping appears heavy duty enough to last long and provide many draft free years. The door rolls smoothly and shuts well even without being locked, when properly leveled. The lock for the screen door is mounted on the inside frame, rather than on the screen door itself. It is a cam style lock, just turn it so the pointed part is facing out when the screen is shut. Nice feature to prevent young children from opening the screen door. I purchased the "dead-bolt" as I've referred to it for added security. I'm not going to test it, but it looks like it will do its job well. It is very easy to operate with you foot. My only wish was that Home Depot would stock an Energy Star rated glass option for this door, I would have happily paid more for the upgraded glass glazing feature. Although the LowE Tempered glass, which is the only in stock (non special order) option from HD at this time, it does not meet US Energy Star standards. However it does meet them established for the southern areas of Canada. I compared the values to my Energy Star rated Pella windows and they are extremely comparable. Bottom line, I would recommend this door to my family and friends. Verify that your installers levels the sliding door itself and that the handle is installed properly to pull the sliding panel snug with the stationary panel when locking.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from this does does not stay close .one needs to push on it with some strength and hold the door shut just to lock it. when closed it has a 3/8 gap door will not stay close tightly.it has a 3/8 gap in the close position.and you have to really get some strength behind the door when closing it and hold the door shut while locking it. awful product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product We bought this door for our kitchen remodel. It is a solid, well made door. We originally were going to special order the anderson slider, but the HD representative steered us toward this door and said the only difference between special order and the in stock door is that you have to assemble the frame on the in-stock door where the special order comes pre-assembled. So we decided to save the $500 and put the frame together ourselves. Highly recommend this product!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy! I was in the market for an inexpensive yet durable patio door. This fit the bill to a tee! It is white vinyl (very low maintanence) yet I still get the sturdiness of the wood core. I've only had to adjust the screen once in the 3 years I've had this door. Highly recommend this door!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy without researching it! We installed this door and have had nothing but problems, ex: "bounce back" (google it with this model and see how many complaints come up!) & screws popping thru the head stop. When we call andersens hotline we are told "they never heard of that happening" and asked us to send photos to prove our problems!! Home Depot has helped when they could but dealing with Andersen's customers service is one of the worst we have ever dealt with! Research this doors problems on google for yourself before buying! I wish I would have.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from door great, screen bad bought 2 slideing doors for a breeze way. both were missing hardware. but, the store did help out buy giveing us what was missing. the doors are heavy duty and work great. but the screens are junk, they come off the track often, and they don't lock well. you can open them from the outside, when they are locked. buyer beware
