The wind had blown my door open and damaged the closer bracket at the door jamb. Can I get these parts without purchasing the complete closer kit?

Some of the storm door models offer the bracket only. Please contact us at 800-933-3626 for assistance. Be prepared to provide your serial number which can be found on the hinge-side edge of the door. This will help in properly identifying your door.

What is the non-bump one for? My door has glass/screen slider and if used at the top, screws would interfere with roller mechanism.

Answer:
The bump- closer has the button that you can tap with your foot to hold the door open. The non-bump closer uses the 'Hold Open Washer' that you slide to the position where you want the door to be held open at. For doors with a retractable screen only one closer is used at the bottom of the door.

We are sorry to hear about what happened to the closer mechanism. We can do troubleshooting for the part to fix the concern. Customer Reviews

Rated 3.0 out of 5 by 57 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by worst quality, worst customer service, worst warranty bought new door last april, installed new storm door with it and it was the andersen storm door, by april the closer bump broke, the storm door didn't close al the way and slight wind blew the door open and bended the rod, i ordered a new 1, installed it and guess what broke next day, called customer service to ask what can we do with the situation, he said not part of the door warranty, i said what you mean he said the part that broke is not part of the door warranty and wind cause problem voids the warranty, i ask what can we do about it and all he can say is give me 20% discount next order of the part, i said forget it, why do i have to pay for a poor quality part for 20%? why not free or 70% etc.... and why a expensive door cannot stand a slight wind? what more if a storm comes, will the name storm door handle that storm? Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase The door closure kit was easy to install on the existing storm door. Good service from Home Depot on ordering and delivering the kit to store for pickup. July 19, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Missing Parts Read some bad reviews but I over looked them ... bad decision. I opened package and found two major parts missing! I called Anderson/Emco and they wanted to charge me $17 plus. I said I just bought and parts not included in box .... language problem I think. She said I will have to work through Home Depot and they will FAX paperwork to them, etc. Called HD and they say I have to bring closer kit back in and they can reorder. I'm concerned the reorder will be the same since the parts were sealed in two separate bags ... like a production line problem... still trying to decide whether to just return for a refund and look elsewhere. Very,. very disappointed in Anderson. Also, the instruction sheet is very poor. And I'm an experienced do-it-your-selver and an engineer. June 29, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst storm door ever!! Havent had the door a year and need to replace the door handle and closure. Parts are too expensive and flimsy. I ignored my friends warnings shouldve taken the time to do better research. June 21, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Storm door closer the door closer was a little hard to adjust, the kit came with two closers but because I have the screen that hides away and rolls up at the top of the door. I did not install the second closer I was afraid I would ruin the screen. The second closer was not shown as part of the kit I ordered. May 31, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Solid, if noisy, replacement for Anderson I used this kit to replace original equipment that came with an Anderson full-view storm door (a heavy, all-glass door). Items arrived quickly, appeared to be of good quality and installed easily in place of the original gear. Everything works fine-- the door opens and closes properly and after slight adjustment, slams adequately to engage the latch. My only criticism is that these pistons are far noisier than the units they replaced. There's some hissing, of course, as air rushes in and out of the pistons. But there's also a groaning noise when opening and closing the door. Applying some lithium grease to the rod helped a little, but there's still a groaning noise that wasn't present in the original equipment. I am hoping that it fades over time. April 17, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good This is some good replacement pieces. It makes the door work good. May 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product 100% I would highly recommend this Storm door closer to any one, April 9, 2016
