Answer:
I bought a truck and pulley system that has a threaded hole on top of it. You can either buy a ball or eagle ornament then thread the screw through the light and into the truck and pulley. There is a bolt that you may need to take off but it has no effect.

I was concerned that the ball would not work, but it did, so probably the eagle will do fine. You can always return it to the store if it doesn't. Definitely worth a try. We are very happy with the light.

Many of these units use rechargeable battery packs, so you just can't purchase the rechargeable double or triple A batteries. My question is, does the light use regular rechargeable batteries or a battery pack?

Answer:
The LED light has individual rechargeable batteries that are shipped in the box with the light, you need to install them in the battery compartments and let the sunlight charge them up during the day.

Bill - I believe individual batteries but since it was a gift, I didn't check it. It seems to me it was one of the questions I asked when I called regarding the product. American Flag Co. is where I got the pole and I believe they told me but I bought the llight at Home Depot because American Flag told me they sold the lights but they didn't fit their poles. Why, I'll never know.

Solar Light for Flag

This question is from Solar Powered Flagpole Light

As per law, the flag is not to be flown at night without it being lit up. There are so many different reviews on this that it prompts this question:
If, as some have said, the solar light isn't working then why don't the batteries kick in and light up the flag? Aren't the batteries for back up?

Answer:
The batteries are charged by the solar panels built into the light. The batteries supply power to the light, not the solar panel. The light should only come on during the hours of darkness. If it does not then you either have defective batteries or a defective solar light. Recommend you replace the batteries with the manufacture recommended rechargeable batteries.

Battery life for the solar lights are from 1-2 years. The rechargeable batteries store power generated by the sun. It is recommended that if your batteries are not working to replace them.

Answer:
No, the batteries are charged by the solar cells when exposed to sunlight during the day. Then it is the batteries that run the lights at nighttime. As the batteries age, they may lose their ability to hold enough charge to last through the night. When that happens the light may come on when it gets dark but gradually fade out before morning.

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 108 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent light for the price It is easy to install and looks good on top of the pole. It is very bright when it first comes on but by the morning it is about half as bright. I am worried about how it will be this winter when it doesn't have a long summers day to recharge and a long night to shine. September 20, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good light Lights up flag well. Lasts until dawn for now. We'll see in a few months with longer nights. September 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EGO Grass Trimmer Have used this grass trimmer on my yard 4 times over the last month and it has done a good job. Has plenty of power to trim the grass and weeds around my yard as well as edge along the sidewalk. I use it for approximately 25 minutes each cutting and have not experienced any issues with the battery. The charge time after each use is approximately 15 minutes. The cost is a little high, but you get what you pay for. Would like to see the price of additional batteries go down. I am thinking about buying the EGO blower and lawnmower, but want to see how the grass trimmer holds up before making the move. At this point I would recommend this product. August 4, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not that great It is a solar light for flag pole, but it only lasts for a few hours. It goes off in the middle of the night. I had one prior it was ok.... so I upgraded to this one.... but it does not light up flag for night. I guess I shall have to go back to the electric one that is hardwired to house and goes on at sundown and off at sunrise. September 20, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value at a decent price. Works well I've tried a couple of approaches to light my flag on a 20 foot pole with limited success and this looked like a good, easy solution. The location gets quite a bit of sunlight during the day to charge the batteries. The light seems to operate well for 8-10 hours. I expect with the upcoming fall/winter shortened days that it may not charge as fully or illuminate for as long. I usually take the pole down for the winter months so that shouldn't be a problem. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best thing in the world I have been looking for this Solar powered flagpole light for ever. This lights the flag up Beautiful, Tell your friends about this.God Bless the U.S.A. August 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brighter than I thought it would be The light is brighter than I imagined it would be. I live in a darker neighborhood and the flagpole light in the front yard doubles as a yard light. My only concern is the AA rechargeable batteries it uses. I haven't had any issues yet, but was hoping for lithium batteries so they would last longer. The light stays on all night without issue after charging during the day. Very easy to mount. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Flag Solar Light - Better than Expected! Great light. Installation was easy and it puts out great amount of light for my 20' flag pole. Would definitely recommend this one. August 16, 2016
