Product Overview

The ClearStream Signal Meter is an efficient plus inexpensive method to aim antennas plus measure performance plus can identify the presence of transmissions found on the frequencies many TV stations broadcast. Compact, lightweight plus user friendly, the Signal Meter is beneficial inside antenna aiming, specifically rooftop installations where a big, commercial level signal meter will not be useful. Integrated filters minimize the possibility of false positives. Signals above 700 MHz are filtered to reduce detection of cellular plus post 2009 wireless broadband transmissions. Broadcasts under 470 mHz are filtered to reduce detection of recreational radio, public protection, FM radio etc. The Signal Meter involves a 9 Volt power. Note: the SM200 meter will likely not identify particular HDTV broadcasts by channel amount. A commercial level field meter is advised for those abilities.

  • Measures antenna signal reception
  • Detects both UHF/VHF frequency bands
  • Includes 9 Volt battery

Customer Questions & Answers

I have 2 bars on my signal meter when hooked up to my antenna system - CS-v & Db8e. Is that sufficient for receiving channels? Thank you. Paul G.

Asked by: Paul G
With a signal meter, it can be difficult to interpret the limited information presented by the LEDs. I recommend you next connect your array to a tuner or TV and proceed with the normal setup process for the tuner or TV. If you require support in the future, feel free to contact our Technical Support department either on the phone @ 877-825-5572 or online with our Live Chat. Thanks for your time!

Will this detect that there is or is not a cable TV signal present on a cable?

My friend has a multitude of cables located in a signal routing area in a downstairs area. I want to determine which have a cable TV signal on them.
Asked by: Biigmy
Depends on the freq the signals are on. for antenna signals yes it can say there is something. if you just want to locate a certain wire use a toner and probe used in networking.

1) Is there a way to adjust the meter's gain? 2) How do I open the meter and replace the 9V battery? 3) Do I use this meter with or without the amplifier; does it matter?

Asked by: Joe Mod
The meter is not adjustable. There is a small slot that will allow you to pry the battery door free. You can try it either way, with our without the amplifier. Thanks.

Is there an inline continuous use meter available? I'm looking to get rid of my satellite system and use a roof mounted antenna with a rotor to give me the most options. It would be useful to peek in my reception.

Asked by: Energizerf9
Our signal meter is intended for setup orientation. Many TV's have built in meters. I am not aware of a dedicated meter for home use. Thanks!

Signal Meter is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it says it will do in aligning antenna. It's easy to use but wish it had digital readout to do fine tuning for weakest channel signal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to read I bought this to make it easier to position my attic antenna. It works well without a signal amp, but just always reads full bars when the amp is on even though the antenna is not positioned perfectly. If you are not using an amp or preamp this will definitely work good for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saves much time and effort The meter was a real time saver by helping me orient my antenna toward two different locations. I didn't have to go up and down a ladder from the roof to the tv. Then, it helped me determine the necessity of an amplifier when I used a splitter to run to two tvs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from no running up and down It was simple to adjust my antenna perfectly with ONE trip to the roof. Easy to see when the signal was it's strongest.
