Since we already have an under sink water filter system in our kitchen, this Over the Counter Filter System was a perfect option for our upstairs guest bath vanity. Now we do not have to come downstairs middle of the night to get filtered water. Installation of this unit is very easy, requires no skill set and needs about 2 minutes of your time. Filter system ships with 2 pre-installed filters and 2 extra adaptors in case your application needs one. The hose assembly pipes are approximately 28 inches long.
I wasnât sure how the hose assembly would look like over the counter, but once installed I was quite happy with overall appearance of this filter system. Maximum filtered water flow being 0.5 gallons per minutes makes it high efficiency filter system.
As instructed in instructions manual, after installation I ran the water for 10 minutes through the filter system and then gave it a try. It indeed did a great job filtering the water.
Water was tasteless, colorless and odor less as it should be.
I would recommend you to view a complete listing of performance data available in Info & Guide section just above the Specifications section of this product page at Home Depot web site so you can get a good idea what it filters and what it doesnât.
Filters are to be replaced every 6 months or after 450 Gallons of filtered water. However, I am not sure if this filter has capability of keeping track how many gallons are more to go and Installation Manual does not mention it anywhere.
The replacement filters are about $60. With that said, your monthly cost to drink filtered water comes to $10. For the entire family, 30 days of filtered water for $10 is not a bad deal at all but the best part is that it greatly helps you reduce your carbon footprint. We are happy with it and look forward to clean drinking.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by hpiguy Installs Fast, Filters up to 450 gallons, Chromed Metal Faucet Fixture
The water filter by Aquasana is great in applications where you want your tap water filtered without installing a large filtration system onto your entire house water supply.
Out of the box you'll get the silver plastic filter container with filters pre-installed, the chrome metal hose/faucet attachment, the hose assembly and an assortment of adapters and washers for different sinks. The parts count is low, and installation takes less than 20 minutes including flushing the filter once it's hooked up.
NOTE: This filter will NOT work with the type of gooseneck faucets where the entire faucet head pulls off as a sprayer. It's important to know that before you buy it.
You insert the color coded hoses into the bottom of the filter housing, then unscrew the faucet strainer and screw on the new faucet adapter/filter lines. If you can attach a hose to your faucet, you can install this filter. No plumbing experience, special parts or plumbing tools are needed.
Once installed you have to flush the filter for ten minutes and then you're ready to use it for drinking water. You can only use cold water with this filter. Hot water will ruin the filters.
Press the tab on the adapter and turn on the cold water. It flows at about 1/2 gallon per minute with the faucet opened all the way. It's completely silent, no odds sounds like some smaller size filters as the water is pushed through. It doesn't take long to fill a pitcher. Once the container or glass is full, shut off the water and the filter valve automatically closes for you, letting you use the regular faucet again.
The filtered water is crystal clear and completely odor free. Just like water should be.
Replacement filters can be found easily by searching the model number of the filter you have.

First sink-top water filter and so far, I'm loving it! I've tried others that are heavy and tend to have the whole component attached to the end of the faucet. After time, had to replace faucet due to the weight of the unit...so was thrilled to see there was an affordable sink-top version. Super, super easy to set-up...took less than a couple of minutes, easy to follow directions. I love the button that you use to change the water flow to the filtered water, if you forget to change the water back and shut the water off...the system shuts it off for you. The chrome filter unit is so sleek & you really don't notice it on your counter top. I was worried the water lines wouldn't be long enough, but had plenty of room. The water tastes great and I can't wait to start saving money but filling my own water bottles....WOO HOO! I would highly recommend this unit, I'm glad I have it. You'll be saying, too: "Worth the try!" Enjoy :)

The idea of this product is excellent. A way to filter water straight from the tap without a huge device hanging off the faucet is ideal.
Unfortunately, I found this product became to cumbersome and crowded my kitchen sink area. The tubing is too short to allow the filter to be placed to the side of the sink.
The most unsettling part - there is a sticker on the packaging disclaiming: Warning: Hot water MAY void the warranty. Not will, but may which makes me feel like the company would deny a warranty claim under this clause.
In the end, I took it off and tried to store it - but the tubes are so tightly connected you CAN NOT remove them. How would you replace the filter? Not worth it.

I've never been too fussy about water; I mean water is water right? Wrong!! Throughout my day, I go through 2 bottles of bottled water and a glass of water from the water dispenser in my fridge door. Once I got the Aquasana filter, I wanted to see how it compared with the water I've currently been drinking. Setup was pretty easy. It comes with an adapter if it doesn't fit on your sink and I haven't had any problems with leaks. Once I got the machine up and running and after it was broken in for a few days, I compared it to my bottled water. The Asquasana produced cleaning tasting water then the bottled water. I don't know what other way to describe it, since water is supposed to be flavorless, but the water tasted fresh. I then compared the Aquasana to the water from my fridge and this filter blew the other one out of the water (pun intended). The water from my fridge tasted metallicy, although it was also going through a filter in the fridge. The cost of upkeep for this filter can get pricey, with filters being sold for about $50 needing replacement every 5-6 months. Overall a great product and great tasting water.
