Home Depot is beginning to Stock these walls…if they are not on the shelves at your local store yet, they can be ordered. As well, some people fill the slot with white silicone (clean the slot with Alcohol prior to filling.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware! This is not made for tile walls. Do not buy! This shower base is advertised on the box and the instructions that it is for tile walls but it is not. After I had it installed (wasn't home at the time) I noticed it had notches around the lip of the base that appeared to be for pre-fab shower walls. These will not be covered by the wall if you put up normal durock and tile.I went back to the local home depot to inspect others out of the box and found the same thing. I asked a sales associate and he had no clue what I was talking about. I emailed Aquatic and they said that the notches are in fact for pre-fab shower walls (which they don't sell as an option only a kit with the base) and they advised that I should just fill them in with caulk for use with tile. Ridiculous! First of all, it will look terrible and the caulk is not going to hold up. I demanded that they ship me free shower walls since the product is clearly marketed wrong and I got no where with them after 2 weeks. I would have taken it back to the store, but it was already set in mortar and I had purchased it 6 months prior. I probably could have fought a little harder, but in the end I guess I will just fur out my walls an extra 1/2 in on three sides to cover up the notches. What a disappoinment and headache!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed with this product due to notches on the tub itself I did not read the reviews before I bought this tub as we needed it right away and there was only one box available on the shelf at Home Depot. I needed a 34" by 60 " shower base as the existing one in my house was cracked. Lowes does not stock this size (non-standard as they claim). I went to Home Depot where the lady in the "Bath & Kitchen" section flat out said that it was not available as it was a non - standard size, even though we could see this Aquatic tub on the shelves! They helped us get this product and we asked it if could tile around this tub and they answered yes and pointed to the description on the website (which does say, you can tile around this tub). Here is the blurb from their product description: "The Aquatic 34 in. x 60 in. Single Threshold Shower Pan in White in your home's bath or shower for use with tile." After installation in my master bathroom, which is a tight fit, we noticed these darn notches all along the tub. It turns out that these are used for the pre-fab walls. How stupid and moronic of Aquatic to do this? Aquatic should have designed punch outs for these notches. You can take stuff out but you can't put fiberglass in. I can't return it because it is already installed and mounted. I know it costs $200 but the amount of labor that went in to install is more than what I spent on the tub itself. I just think this product, when advertised for tiled bathrooms should not have these notches. Utterly disgusting on part of Aquatic and this is made in the USA, not overseas. I can't return it now, so I have to figure out a way to fill those notches, as water will accumulate in those notches after a shower. How ironic that Aquatic advertises that there are channels to divert water into the drain faster but then they leave this darn notches in the tub? There is no way I can get the backerboard to come down to that level as it would skew the backerboard at an angle and that would look ugly and not to mention you can't tile on a slant. Overall, it is an average product but there is a design flaw with these notches and I would not recommend this to anyone tiling around this tub, unless Aquatic has a solution.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Notches are an issue, price and quality are good. I wondered about the 'notches, too, though didn't think too much about it until later when I realized they wouldn't be covered by the tile (this was a retrofit into an existing tile job). This is an issue that affects more the aesthetics than functionality but how ridiculous than the vendor couldn't even figure out what the notches were all about. Still, for <$200 what do you expect? The other pans were verifiably garbage, this one will last so it will be there a good long time to 'appreciate' the 'feature'. ditto "What a disappointment and headache!"

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor I recently had to replace my pre-fab shower base due to a crack in a tiled shower stall. Purchased this product from Home depot as it was the only one with the correct dimensions and center drain. Was led to believe that it could be installed in a tiled enviroment. I decided upon inspection to spend a few dollars and gets a plumbers opinion. His Answer was absolutley not!!! Thank goodness I decided to get a professionals opinion before installation. This product is designed only for complete pre-fab shower stall's. Nowhere on the box or in the instructions does it specify this fact. Also the plumber said that the quality of the base itself was substandard compared to the one being replaced. granted the price was very reasonable considering the unit I require cost an additional $200.00 but in the long run well worth the extra expense. Do not purchase this product for a tiled enviroment, also the unit itself is very flimsy, could flex it with very little effort.
