I am confused about "direct to studs" meaning. We recently ripped out all drywall around the tub due to leak. Does purchasing this kit means that we don't have to install new drywall?
Thanks!

Answer:
Direct to studs means just that. the shower unit will be nailed to bare studs meaning you have to have the dry wall removed to the studs where the unit will be installed. Once installed you then finish with drywall over the flange where it is screwed to the studs.

Answer:
The unit is designed so that you can install directly to the studs, no addional reinforcment is needed for the walls. However you will need to install some drywall ( green board) down over the nailing flanges to finish it off.

Do you make a special caulk for the seam or a liner so water does not collect?

Hello Lindsay,
If you wish to caulk the unit, you will just need to use 100% silicone caulk with mildew resistant properties.
Thanks for your question.

Answer:
Hello Lindsay,
From a professional installers view, they do make tub and surround caulk specifically for this job. Some surrounds do not require any caulk follow directions closely with caulking a tub and surround as it can be done without the caulk being visible and that is what you want to achieve as visible caulk means maintenance in the future with (mold and or cracking).. Good luck on your task.

It looks like the tub is pointed. Is it flat in the side? Or dose it curve?

Hello,
The tub is flat on the skirt. The lighting in the photo makes it appear that it has some curve to it, but it is completely flat. Please visit AquaticBath.com for a better view. http://aquaticbath.com/products/6030cts/

Answer:
Hello,
The unit is designed to have proper draft to help with drainage. If you properly installation, care and maintenance, mold should not be an issue. We have not seen issues with mold with this product in the marketplace for over 5 years. If you have a major concern, the unit can be caulked and this will not void the warranty.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by don't buy it! Not allowed to say much but this product proved to be junk. Tried two different ones and both were damaged while still in the packaging. So flimsy our plumber would not even install one. July 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install.. Our plumber was very happy with the ease of install on this tub and the fact that is does not need caulk is great. July 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Shower/Tub unit Installed in less than 4 hours in a remodeled bathroom. More sturdy than I was expecting. No problems at all, took me longer to demo the old tub and shower than it did to install. Very nice product, I am telling everyone. November 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very happy with purchase Installed easier than I expected. Really looks good. September 1, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great tub shower combo No grout no caulking! Looks great and easy to clean. July 22, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great tub/shower Was put in older home remodel, once the walls and floor were plumb and level the tub and surround went in very easily. As we are older folks and use this mainly as a shower, the 15 inch tub depth makes it easier to step in and out. Tub sits solidly on floor and the surround is very solid construction compared to others we've seen. Install instructions are simple but that is all you need for a good install. We are very pleased. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install It has been put in a Habitat for Humanity house that is currently still under construction. The instructions were straight forward and easy to follow. Two of us installed it in less than 20 minutes. We have not hooked up the water or drain yet nor tested it for leakage. The sides seem to fit very securely and should not pose any leakage problems. The unit seems to be solid and well constructed. It has plenty of shelf space and should prove to be very serviceable. August 8, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Warning Although it is a nail to stud unit it is still very flimzy. One side panel was damaged and took two weeks to get a replacement. After the two week wait I recieved another damaged panel. Made in USA use to mean something. Quality control is very poor. Now waiting for another panel replacement. You get what you pay for as far as the price goes, cheap. September 23, 2014
