Answer:
If you have a void below the crack (i.e space under your tub) you must drill small (1/4") holes and fill the space with an expandable foam (such as Great Stuff or the equivalent) to halt movement and flexing. If you have ANY movement all cracks will reappear.

Answer:
We used it on a fiberglass (much like hard plastic) bathtub and it did not work. It cracked as soon as we stepped on it again.

Answer:
Although this product should fill the crack, and if properly cleaned and prepped, should bond and keep it water tight…we cannot guarantee a color match.

Answer:
This is to be used as a filler for cosmetic purposes. Do not buy this thinking you will be able to fix a crack that leaks.

Answer:
Yes, this should do the trick. Depending on the size and the depth of this crack you will have to see what other steps must be taken. If the crack feels spongy in any way, meaning that you can push down on it, you might have to open it up so that you can back it up from behind and put some foundation underneath it so that the crack doesn’t get any bigger. Then you can seal it with the repair kit.

I have a fire pit that is fiberglass and got cracked and chipped while moving. It's brown, so I would want to paint over if possible. Can it be painted easily and if so, what type of paint would work best?

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 19 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EXCELLENT! Our tub is 50 years old. It had a couple dings and bad spots. I was dabbing white acrylic paint on it, but it didn't last long. I thought maybe we should get it replaced. With the new tub, labor, plumbing, fixtures, mess, etc.....bottom line estimate was about $1500. I thought, what the heck? For $20 this was worth a try. It actually was really easy to apply and the directions are good. It's been about a month now. If you stand back, you don't notice the color difference. You really need to get right up to it to see it. The pictures show what was a fist size bad spot on the curve of the tube. The rest of it was just small dings. Use in a really well-ventilated area. The smell doesn't last real long, but it is very strong. March 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product! Follow the directions and it comes out great . Just one tip , try not to get too much build up, because it is very hard sanding. Other than that great product. July 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Worked great! I fixed a pretty large whole (about an inch round) using this product and it did the job. Of course, you are never going to get it perfect but from a distance you can't even tell there was a whole there. I could have sanded more but it seems to take forever. November 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Laundry/Utility Tub Accidentally punched a hole in my laundry/utility sink. I followed the directions, mixed it thoroughly, and it did a great job. It's only a utility tub, so I really didn't mind that the color didn't match. December 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Solved my problem I had a tub/shower that had developed a crack in the curve of the side / bottom. By following the instructions this product sealed the crack and undoubtedly kept me from having to purchase a new tub and pay a plumber to install (since I'm quite sure installing a new tub / shower enclosure is beyond me). I was very careful to mix the paste and hardener thoroughly, and let it set up for 24 hours before sanding. After 24 hours it was rock-hard. November 16, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by aquatic gelcoat repair kit Omg....couldn't have been easier! What a wonderful alternative to fix holes in fiberglass. Was worried about reviews due to product being dry. Mine was not! You can hardly tell there were holes from old shower door. Would recommend to all:) August 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product! This is an excellent, inexpensive way to solve chips or cracks in your fiberglass tub/shower. If you follow the instructions you will end up with a flawless surface. My shower was 36 years old and when I was done it looked as smooth as new, however, as stated in the instructions the color match will vary depending on the individual tub or shower. I didn't mind that my color was a little off, I just didn't want it to leak. There is a lot of product in the package and so I even had some left over when done. June 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product. Easy to use and workable for a good 5 to 10 minutes. I recommend using a piece of cardboard or an old spatula for application. The wooden stick doesn't cut it. The color isn't perfect on my tub, but pretty close. I'm sure no one would spot the repair without me pointing it out. Wet sanding is the key and keep sanding until everything is perfectly smooth. Saved a $1500 tub. July 6, 2015
