What model number post/s will accommodate this box, and if I need a spreader plate which model do I need? It would be great if you supply this information with the description of the box. It's very hard to purchase an item sight unseen, so the more information you could give me the better I can make my decision. I'm looking to spend a considerable amount of money on this box so your help would be appreciated thank you

Hello Pam,
Thank you for reaching out! This process can indeed be confusing if one is not familiar with the products. However, we are happy to help educate you on the matter so you feel comfortable with your purchase! The posts compatible with the Oasis Post-Mount Mailbox are the Basic Post (item no. 7516), the Basic Post with Decorative Cover (item no. 7507), the Standard Post- Surface Mount [Short] (item no. 5106), and the Standard Post- In Ground [Short] (item no. 5105). Another option you have is to mount your mailbox to a 4x4 wooden post using our 3-Way 4x4 Adapter Plate (item no. 7540). Those should be the only products you'll need, unless you are planning on mounting multiple mailboxes to one single post. In that case, you would need a spreader plate. Please call the manufacturer at 310-374-5700 if you have any other questions and we would be happy to assist you.

We live ten miles out of town and on a dead end street and have never had a problem until recently. We did the research and selected this mail box because it was large enough to get packages as well as good reviews on security. We get a fair amount of rain and it also handles that well. We got extra keyes made so that we can put them on all of our key rings. The mail box is 1/8 of a mile down from the house. We got some lettering made for the address and installed the mail box on the stand. That part took just a few minutes. We are delighted with the stand.

Chose this one for the price and size. Some of the less expensive locking mail boxes seem small. This one has a deep storage area and stronger locking mechanism. Made of heavy gauge metal it is very sturdy and heavy. I built a block enclosure for it. I would recommend this mailbox.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Safe, Secure, Sturdy. Bigger than my first apartment. After having mail stolen for the last time I searched for a locking mailbox and after reading reviews came up with this one. I opted for the larger of the Oasis line and am very happy with my purchase. It will accept packages as large as my old box did. I also purchased the matching 5525 series post and used a #80 sack of concrete to set it. It is extremely sturdy. I changed up the mounting hardware that came with the post to stainless button head screws and stainless nylon locking nuts using the provided washers. The post was plumb but after mounting the box it was slightly sloped forward so I used 2 stainless washers to level it. The box is powder coated and the hardware is stainless steel which will be nice here in the Pacific Northwest so the hinges won't rust out. I don't hold my mail anymore unless I'm gone for over a week or expecting large parcels. I don't experience the problem with catalogs or magazines like others have reported, at least not yet. Water does bead up on the top of the box because it is flat. I don't want to slope the box so I'm going to try some car wax or maybe rainx to help that. The rubber door seals are good and tight. All in all, a tad spendy for a mail box but we all know you get what you pay for. The box and post are well made and look like they will give many years of reliable service. The shipping was fast and "free". Ordered on Monday afternoon and delivered that Friday. With more and more online shopping, small parcels are being delivered to our homes more frequently. Get a mail box that is safe, secure and sturdy. One that is large enough to suit your future needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oasis Mailbox Great mailbox for security of mail and locks so mailbox door doesn't fall open.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very large mail box for rural areas Mailbox has very sturdy construction, since we live in the Sierra's, it needs to be weather proof which it has been so far. Box has an attractive finish that looks like it can take many years of service. Order the steel pole with it and it can be partially filled with concrete making it a battleship. This box is postmaster approved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Mother of All Mailboxes Completely over my mail theft paranoia. Neighbors envious. And weirdly, I think my USPS lady has a mild crush on me. Super sturdy, simple assembly, ample space. If I am going away for a few days do not need to ask the neighbors to pick up and hold for me. Really great product for strange times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great locking mailbox I used the matching metal post that you can buy for this mailbox and installed it myself. I mixed up a little cement as the instructions recommended for installing the post into the ground. The result is a very sturdy mailbox that is very high quality. It is very solid and the doors have a high quality feel when opening and closing. The doors also have rubber seals on them to keep the moisture out. My mail is kept clean, dry, and secure. It is the best mailbox that I have ever owned.
