What model number post/s will accommodate this box, and if I need a spreader plate which model do I need? It would be great if you supply this information with the description of the box. It's very hard to purchase an item sight unseen, so the more information you could give me the better I can make my decision. I'm looking to spend a considerable amount of money on this box so your help would be appreciated thank you

Hello Pam,
Thank you for reaching out! This process can indeed be confusing if one is not familiar with the products. However, we are happy to help educate you on the matter so you feel comfortable with your purchase! The posts compatible with the Oasis Post-Mount Mailbox are the Basic Post (item no. 7516), the Basic Post with Decorative Cover (item no. 7507), the Standard Post- Surface Mount [Short] (item no. 5106), and the Standard Post- In Ground [Short] (item no. 5105). Another option you have is to mount your mailbox to a 4x4 wooden post using our 3-Way 4x4 Adapter Plate (item no. 7540). Those should be the only products you'll need, unless you are planning on mounting multiple mailboxes to one single post. In that case, you would need a spreader plate. Please call the manufacturer at 310-374-5700 if you have any other questions and we would be happy to assist you.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 53 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by best consumer mail box that I found after searching several sites Easy to install but you need to research the appropriate post to put it on. I made my own using a 4x4 that I covered with a vinyl fence post sleeve and a 3/4" ply wood base. I spoke to my mailman and he gave me some helpful hints (weather issues) for the area we live in that may affect your choices of a mail box. Also, search the web for prices as I went onto the Lowes' web and almost got ripped-off as compared to HD. December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wrong size Not being able to see item in person makes it difficult to make a selection. After receiving this and comparing to one we have, the new one would not be an increase in amount of mail it could hold. So we returned item and are still looking. December 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Drop Box Perfect for the large size mail that clients drop off. Easy to use and install. Great buy! August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Product as described well made good value Easy to install well made for commercial use good buy May 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Oasis Mailbox Great mailbox for security of mail and locks so mailbox door doesn't fall open. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for mailbox column I wanted a mailbox that would lock and accept packages. I was concerned the oasis would be too big looking, but concerned the oasis jr would not hold enough mail or accept large enough packages. The oasis was a good choice for my stone mailbox column. September 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very secure! This is a fantastic mailbox. It is very solid and works just like a USPS curbside mailbox. The hopper is large enough to hold medium-sized packages. The mailbox is well constructed. I expect that it will last indefinitely. When placed in the hopper, mail falls into a large "storage" area that is accessible only by using a key. Literally the only way that mail could be stolen is if a thief steals the entire mailbox. Also, there is enough room in the storage area for about two weeks of mail (assuming that you get what I would consider an average amount of mail every day). January 23, 2007
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Safe, Secure, Sturdy. Bigger than my first apartment. After having mail stolen for the last time I searched for a locking mailbox and after reading reviews came up with this one. I opted for the larger of the Oasis line and am very happy with my purchase. It will accept packages as large as my old box did. I also purchased the matching 5525 series post and used a #80 sack of concrete to set it. It is extremely sturdy. I changed up the mounting hardware that came with the post to stainless button head screws and stainless nylon locking nuts using the provided washers. The post was plumb but after mounting the box it was slightly sloped forward so I used 2 stainless washers to level it. The box is powder coated and the hardware is stainless steel which will be nice here in the Pacific Northwest so the hinges won't rust out. I don't hold my mail anymore unless I'm gone for over a week or expecting large parcels. I don't experience the problem with catalogs or magazines like others have reported, at least not yet. Water does bead up on the top of the box because it is flat. I don't want to slope the box so I'm going to try some car wax or maybe rainx to help that. The rubber door seals are good and tight. All in all, a tad spendy for a mail box but we all know you get what you pay for. The box and post are well made and look like they will give many years of reliable service. The shipping was fast and "free". Ordered on Monday afternoon and delivered that Friday. With more and more online shopping, small parcels are being delivered to our homes more frequently. Get a mail box that is safe, secure and sturdy. One that is large enough to suit your future needs. April 10, 2016
