Can this mailbox catch the mail through a mail slot in a wall

May I see the back view
Asked by: Debra
Hello, Thank you for your inquiry! The Regent Wall-Mount Mailbox is designed to be installed on an exterior wall, under an awning. The back of this mailbox is enclosed with four pre-drilled installation holes. We do not recommend altering the mailbox in any way, as it would void the Manufacturer's Warranty. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns at 310-374-5700 or at Thank you!

Lock vs. Non-Lock Latch

I have seen this mailbox somewhere where there is no lock, but a non-locking latch to the door on the box. Can this be ordered?
Asked by: BNico
Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, you can special order a thumb latch and switch out the lock with the thumb latch (item 5130), but you will utilize the existing lock's cam with the thumb latch. If you have further questions regarding installation, please contact the manufacturer at 800-464-7491.

Customer Reviews

Regent Wall-Mount Locking Mailbox is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holds Lots of Mail, Oversize Drop Slot, Installs Easy Things aren't getting any safer out there when it comes to identity theft. A locking mailbox is a necessity these days. This upright stainless steel mailbox fits the bill perfect, keeps mail secure and looks great while doing so. Assembly: This is ready to be used right out of the box. All you need to to is screw it to your wall. Even the screws are included. Size: 12.5 tall 9.75 inches wide 4 inches deep, tapers to 2.5 at bottom. Install: This will bolt to any wall. Four screw holes are pre-drilled inside the box. They cannot be seen or accessed from the outside of the box for security. Just mark the holes on your wall and bolt it up. The included screws were a bit small for my type of siding so I used longer screws and washers that I provided myself. Install takes 15 minutes, tops. Lock: A chrome lock is built in, and two keys are provided. It works smoothly and has a red and green color to show when it's locked or open. Quality: The box is well built and riveted together on the back side. All the seams are tight and the steel arrived with no scratches. The lid swings easily and closes firmly. The door opens and closes without binding. The metal isn't super thick, but it's enough to keep prying fingers out of your mail as it's intended. The stainless finish is bright and cleans with a rag like any other stainless. Mail Access: The drop slot is bigger than average. It means the mail person won't smash or tear your mail putting it in the box. The slot is about an inch deep and 9.5 inches wide. It fits all oversized magazines and flyers but isn't big enough to let a hand in to steal mail. The interior of the box is big enough to fit two days of average mail. This weekend they put four magazines, a pizza flyer and seven envelopes inside and there was still room. I LOVE the large front door. It allows me to remove all the mail easily and works much nicer than a top locking box because the lid isn't always trying to fall down on your hand. Overall: This is a great locking mailbox that doesn't break the bank to provide you with basic security and peace of mind. It installs easily, the big drop slot is perfect for those of us that get lots of magazines, it is plenty big to hold lots of mail and the front door access makes it easier to remove mail.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product!! I looked all over for a simple, modern looking stainless mailbox at a reasonable price. Well, here it is!! It is sleek, but big enough to fit what's needed (i.e. padded envelopes), and it looks great on our home. It was easy to install. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that I had hoped for a slightly heavier weight to the metal. I still think it is well made and fairly durable though, and for the price I think it's an excellent value. Note that stainless will show fingerprints, so if you're fussy about that you'll have to wipe it down frequently (I'm not too worried, and will probably just do it before we have company here). :) Overall- a very cool mailbox and a great buy!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A little disappointed I was surprised at how flimsy this mailbox was for the price. Someone could literally bend it with their bare hands? Considering it was over 50.00 with tax I think it should have been a much heavier gauge. Because it was not that big to begin with, thus not alot of material went into making it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice but holds water This is a nice mailbox, looks good, not overly design-y complicated looking. A nice modern clean looking mailbox. It's not as flimsy as others are suggesting but it is not super thick metal. My issue is that it pools water in the bottom and my mail gets soaked. I tried putting a few layers of open weave plastic in there and it hasn't helped. Next step, drilling holes in the bottom. Is it over priced? Yep. Does it look decent and function? Yep. So it has its pluses and minuses.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This product seams nice This product has design flaws, scratches easily, you have to shim the top back for the flap to work, metal is very thin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I want. I installed a SS shelf under my mailbox to make it easier to open the front door with purses or packages. I made it out of scrap, but it looked so nice it put the old mail box and porch light to shame. This is the only SS box I can find in 3 northern Calif towns. A bit pricy at almost 50 bucks. However I still can not find a SS porch light. I am planning to buy it soon.
