Answer:
Standard garden hose connector. They actually sell a hose with the connector attached. (Not a garden hose, but a 10 or 12 foot piece of rubber hose found in the appliance section, near the dehumidifier)

Answer:
You can set the fan to run continuously, or set the humiditiy at a certain level and the fan will stop when it reaches that level and start again when it gets higher. We had our running continuously until our basement reached 50% humidity, then set the level at 50% and turned the fan to cycle on and off based on that.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 132 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great humidifier The unit really performs very well maintaining the humidity level we set it at. We are very pleased with this humidifier April 14, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Arctic Air Dehumidifier So far this has been a great product. I have a pretty large basement (1,000sqft) with a shower and laundry room and this gets rid of all the moisture in the air. I have noticed a great difference in the air quality and smell since I have been running this a few days during the week. August 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dehumidifier works great and is more quiet! No issues with this dehumidifier, has been working great in my basement. Also, in comparison to the previous one I owned, this model is much more quiet and as a result more pleasant to have around. Dehumidifiers aren't going to be silent, but if you're looking for a more tolerable one this is a great choice. Filter is easy to remove and clean when needed. Price in comparison to other brands was also good after shopping around. I feel I made a good choice with this one. December 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent dehumidifier This is a very good dehumidifier. It works well in the cool basement. The only problem I can find is that it isn't very easy to remove & replace the bucket. I don't have direct drain access. August 18, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Don't expect support from manufacturer! Screws to hold drain hose were not included (thought the instructions said they were!) As a matter of principle, I called the manufacturer but the REFUSED to send the correct screws and I had to go to my local store to find ones that would work. Strange that it is always 3 cents worth of plastic that renders an appliance inoperable--or in this case 3 cents worth of meta! Had the company been more accommodating, they would have done much to garner customer loyalty. The dehumidifier works well but why recommend a manufacturer that can't be bothered with customer service? December 11, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dehumidifier - ADR50B1G — IT CAME WITH NO INSTRUCTIONS AND I AM HAVEING HARD TIME RUNNING IT December 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic dehumidifiers For years purchased other brands....they were loud and didn't last a year. Did my homework and decided to purchase (2) Danby's and am so happy with both. One for upstairs and a larger one for the downstairs. Was faced each winter with moisture on inside of windows......no more...run our danby at night when the temps are going to be below 32 deg and no more moisture. This alone makes me happy. Recommended to neighbor and they also purchased Danby. Very happy customers. December 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A very nice Dehumidifier !!! The best feature is the front tank design, making an easy way to empty the tank. I've been very happy with all the features and it's reliability. I would highly recommend this unit to everyone looking for a valued dehumidifier. Great job to all involved with this product !! ! December 22, 2015
