I'm giving this thing Five Stars for a number of reasons. The build quality is much better than I anticipated, utilizing brass nozzles for the water spray, sealed switches, covered battery compartment, and heavier plastic overall. The utility of this misting fan is such that I can take it camping, use it on my patio, use just the fan, use it with or without a bucket. The battery is a standard Ryobi 18V, so a Ryobi car charger can be used while camping, or additional batteries can be purchased. Does it work? You bet! It keeps the surrounding air cooled, just like it's supposed to.

Another great item from The Home Depot. This is cool literallyâ¦.. Its 18 volt battery is similar To the Ryobi one plus system, So you can use any of your one plus batteries to run this fan/cooler or use your Ryobi charging equipment.. You can also use the battery from the fan on your Ryobi tools.
Itâs a quality built item. Sturdy and well-made down to the brass water nozzles and the enclosed on/off switches and battery compartment, which is big enough to hold the large Ryobi batteries.
Run time with the enclosed battery with the fan and pump going (you have to sit it on a 5gal. Homer bucket) is about an hour and a half. It will even siphon from regular 12 oz. water bottles. If you hook it to a garden hose, you donât need to run the pump and the battery will run the fan 8-10 hours.
Safe for kids as the enclosed fan is well protected from little fingers. Overall a quality product, Only change Iâd like to see is maybe a car battery extension cord/cigarette lighter plug. Although you can use your Ryobi vehicle charger tooâ¦

Rated 4 out of 5Â by OutbackJoe Good For Portable Cooling
I like the theory behind this unit but it needs a little more pressure to atomize the water better, it does provide a mist but it's much too course to be used as cooling vapor. It provides a much better finer mist when hooked to our household water at 50 PSI. (NOTE: We have a well and the top PSI is set for 55 PSI.) If you are using this fan in high humidity you most likely will end up with a mist of water on everything in front of the fan. So if you are using this for Tailgating make sure the fan is pointed away from the bed or any of its contents if you want them to stay dry.
I know that this is not specifically designed for a job site but it can and does work for this application. When working outside placement of the unit is critical to avoid getting everything within 10' to 20' wet from the spray heads. This can be a real problem when using power tools or if you have a slick finished concrete floor like I do in my shop. The only place this can really be used is outside where the extra water can either drain into the ground or into a lawn.
With that said it does offer a noticeable degree of cooling when used in a modified fashion. I found that I can place this just outside of the space I am working in with the fan pointed into the breeze then let the cooled air come in an outside door or window. This way I have a place for the water to drain away and it won't cause any standing water issues. On most hot days in this area, we have very low humidity in the minus 10% category, so this is going to help with 10 to 20 degrees of cooling.
Overall the fan is very nicely constructed both the fan and water pump switches have water resistant covers as does the battery compartment. The battery compartment has an O ring seal around the bottom of the flip open door. I like the fact that this unit comes with its own Ryobi One 2400 mAh battery and a slow charger. If you have other Ryobi One tools this battery will fit giving you one more battery for you tool set. The battery compartment has room for a larger capacity battery so if you already have a larger Ryobi One battery you will have longer run times.
Overall this is a nice fan and will help to cool a small area down just a bit, it's not an air conditioner but it helps.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Alex Great for my back deck
I recently received this as a gift and have already used it multiple times on my back deck. It is super easy to figure out and I was happy with the amount of mist this thing actually pumps out. Even on a relatively windy afternoon, the fan power was enough to push the mist covering most of our deck while I grilled out.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by BaseballDad Great for baseball games and camping
I have several portable misty set ups for those early summer baseball tournaments and for use when camping in the summer heat. I have to say this is the most portable and most practical setup I own. Stick one of these at the end of the dugout to cool down the team and drops the temp in the dugout significantly. Also is great for those camping trips in the summer where it gets a bit on the warm and sticky side.
I like that is uses the standard brass nozzles and they are removable. Just make sure to remove them at end of the season and drop in some vinegar for a half hour or so to clean out the mineral build up and they will last for a long time.
Haven't owned it long enough the get an idea how long the water pump piece will last. But have used the unit with a garden hose and with the built in pump while sitting on a bucket and both methods work well. Get more mist with the hose, but still works very well when running with its internal pump and a bucket.
Won't do much for you though If you are in an area of high humidity.
