How does one stop leaks at coupling connections (spray head inlet and outlet)?

how long is conecting hose

Asked by: peewee
FYI, the hose included looks NOTHING like the photo. While the photo shows (for reasons unknown!) a hose connector with pre-installed nozzle ports on a long piece of flexible hose, what's REALLY in the box is just a straight section of plain 3/8" OD tubing (the same as the 2' pieces, but in a length around 10', as I recall). I bought a section of plain tubing, just in case the contents of the box actually matched the photo (since you'd need plain tubing to install the system), but ended up taking it back since the tubing I needed was already in the kit. Someone in the Arctic Cove photo marketing department dropped the ball on this one, and merged contents from a cheaper "non-brass" system and this "high-end' low-pressure system.

Connecting hose not included?!

What kind of connecting hose is needed to attach this to the hose spicket?
Asked by: cloe
A standard garden hose is required to attach to the kit.

Already have this system and works great just need additional part without buying whole kit

Asked by: Miki2015
Additional parts are available in the same section. The cost of each is high enough that you may be better off buying a whole kit though.

3/8 in. x 12 ft. Professional Misting Kit is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from huge waste of time and money. purchased 2 sets to run along 20 foot patio cover, along with the r... huge waste of time and money. purchased 2 sets to run along 20 foot patio cover, along with the recommended 160 psi pump regulated to recommend inlet pressure of 40 psi. connectors start to drip then blow apart after a few minutes of running. went back and forth to home depo to purchase more connectors to stop leaks, then the replacement connectors start to leak and blow apart after a few minutes of running. I completely bypassed the pump and just ran hose pressure and still leaks. after repairing or replacing all connectors at least once with no luck i called customer service at artic cove- which is a complete joke, they claimed they never heard of this before and offered no solution, even though 7 of the 9 reviews were about leaks at connectors ? I came to the conclusion its not the connectors them selfs but the 3/8 tubing that is causing the issues - when the tubing warms from hot weather its to flexible to stay secured to connectors. unfortunately that's when you use misters is in hot weather. the whole setup is coming down along with the pump , which im told only works with the 3/8 tube system. im going to build a 1/2inch pvc system which I know wont leak.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very easy and quick to put together. The installation on... very easy and quick to put together. The installation on the house was the toughest and longest to complete due to the stucco. I had to buy anchors and longer screws to complete the install. overall, very good product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great! Works great, no leaks. No psi pump needed for us. Took about 1 hour to install 24 ft. We are definitely cooled off!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Glad I Purchased This! The kit was very easy to assemble and put up. I did not use the wood attachments that came with the kit as I put it up on metal. The actual tubing and nozzles were VERY easy to put together. Adjustments that had to be made were minor and easy. Troubleshooting was not difficult. Although it was a bit frustrating and tedious to test each individual nozzle and tube, it was well worth the effort when they were up and working. My pergola is about 20-30 degrees cooler when these are on. The extra money for the brass nozzles (as opposed to plastic) was worth it, but the price for the small amount of coverage area (I had to buy 4 kits to cover less than 100 sq. ft.) was a little much. My only real complaint is that the water tubing is an odd beige color and so on my black and dark brown pergola it looks a little odd. I suppose I could have spray painted it, but I'm not sure how long that would have lasted.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Water Cooling Mister just ok!!!! Too expensive for what you get. it will require a booster pump and a flow regulator. it is also too short. With that said i had to purchase 3 units to cover the area I needed to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mist easy to assemble - works great - actually reduces the temperature of our patio enough to allow comfortable seating outside for hours in 100+ degrees weather

Rated 1 out of 5 by from mister so spent about 4 hours setting it up, and finally turned it on. There were tons of leaks at about 5 out of 10 silver brass connector sites. The fittings are not great at all. Spent about another 2 hours trying to secure the brass fittings together, wedging the plastic tubing into the housing, and even placing tape to hold it secure. It still kept leaking. In my frustration, I just tore down the whole thing, ahhhhh so darn frustrating. Out 140 bucks. The kit is so small, you will likely need to buy three of them, or obtain add on parts. Find another company people! - good luck I think I'm gonna go the old fashion way next time with PVC glue, and good old PVC piping.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from does the trick Good value; brass fittings seem quality. The included mounting brackets are usless if you are mounting into stucco. definitely recommend upgrading those beforehand.
