Can this tub be in the center of a room or does it need to be against a wall? How much does it weigh?
Asked by: MT
The back side in the centre is flat with a removable panel to get at the systems. I think you'd want to ensure that that side isn't a focal point in the room from any angle. We put ours on an angle in the corner (due to size of the room). We love the tub. It's been in for 18 months now. I wish it were 3/4 of its size though, in all directions. We need a step stool on the outside so when getting out it is easier as the wall is HIGH. It's a good size for 2 people with legs intermingled, but if it was 3/4 the size it would be really good for 1. But at the size it is, it takes a lot of water.

Where is the main water faucet located? Is the handheld shower head the only piece included that will fill the tub?

Asked by: Michelle
When you're filling the tub, the water comes out of the jets and water intake...it surprised us, too. But it helps keep the plumbing clean...so no mold .

Are the faucets and pieces on top of the tub removable, so it will fit through a 27.5" wide opening?

Trying to see if it will go through a 27.5" wide door. I see the height is 27.5" but all those extra fittings, etc are on top of that height. Are those items easily removed to get it through the door?
Asked by: mikes
yes, this is exactly what we had to do. As a happy accident, once you get the knobs off, unscrew the jet covers, and the inner liner pops up and off (with a few hefty jerks...(shakes, not jerks as in people)...careful though...it doesn't have a lot of rigidity once you do this...but it helped us get it through a narrow doorway..we immediately put it back in though.

can a heater be installed on this?

can a heater be installed on this?
Asked by: tatter
Hi, You can install a heater on this unit however it is not recommended due to the amount of space that is available inside the tub accessory area. You will need to consult with an installer before attempting modification like that.

6 ft. Whirlpool Tub in White is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent purchase Purchased this for a total remodel of the master bath at our lake house. Home Depot shipped it to the store and it arrived in a matter of days and the staff there were great. I rated Quality 4 star due to a disconnected plastic hose when I unpacked with no information in installation instructions as to where it went and the general lack information on the installation sheet. Other than that I would rate the tub a 5 star. Got the tub to the house and pulled the bubble wrap off and it was in excellent condition except for a plastic hose that had come loose during shipping. I had installed the water and electric to the locations shown on the PDF download but had not installed the drain (the house is on piers so have easy access to the underside of floor). Turns out the tub has a large (about 30" x 18") panel on back side for access to pump and controls with a 3-4 inch hole cut in center that the electric cord and water connections feed through. I did not cut additional holes in case I needed to return so the location drawing does not really line up with the hole which prevents the tub from being pushed flush with back wall. I will cut additional ports in this panel later to align for better fit. The water connection is a regular sink type hook up with 1/2" connections for hot and cold water. I got 30" braided stainless sink connection hoses. I installed the hot and cold angle valves in a block out like a washing machine at the height shown in the PDF. It would have been better to installed a little lower than shown to have hidden from view. The power is a 3 wire SO cable with spade connectors. Since the tub is basically designed to be pushed against the back wall you will need to cut the access panel if you install normal 3-prong plug outlet. The drain location shown on the PDF is the location of the actual drain in the tub. The tub comes with a plastic P-trap and a flexible plastic hose that ends in a 90 degree 1 1/2" elbow. If you install the drain connection where shown there is not room below the P-trap to insert the ell in a floor flush SJ Trap Adapter. I located the drain to the left and closer to the wall in a area clear of the tub frame and it worked well. On first filling I found what I think is the connection point for the hose as the P-trap had a connection tub that leaked. For final fitting up I found that putting the tub on some small 2x blocks under the six feet allowed me to level the feet (1 of the 6 was not at the correct height), tighten the drain connection and do the first fill and look for leaks. Got it installed and wife got one use before we had to leave for home. It worked great but it uses a lot of water. Next upgrade will be a gas tankless water heater for house and I think I will retrofit an inline spa heater into the suction line this summer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome tub! I am loving this tub! But best if add heater as it uses up hot water in most tanks before full enough to turn on jets. Love singing to the radio as I relax in spa bubbles! And long enough I can stretch out!
