Model 911037 Serial No. 00135 Starts most always on the first pull. Very good side disperse. Very comfortable handle position. Owning it for over 26 years and the only maintenance I have done is change the oil and sharpen the blade. I mow a 1-2 times a week from April - October.

Good machine, mows well, always starts (B&S engine). Found it didn't always shift the cuttings into the bag - especially if grass damp (wet summers here in UK) - had dealer weld wings onto blade to increase lift (the same as he did with a mate's Ariens) - no more problems lifting cuttings. This should have been standard for UK - the dealer knew exactly what I was wanting and how to achieve it. Very disapointed with the drive - fine on level lawn but now mine isn't level (recently moved) - it's on an incline. Drive slips and is unreliable. I've had new drive bits (the rubber tyred wheel, etc..) and had the spring checked and tightened, but no better. Am now looking for a good mower with a direct drive with no possibility of slipping.

My wife purchased an Ariens mower Model 911179 elec. start push mower from Home Depot for me this past Christmas. I have 3 bad discs in my back and a mower can be difficult for me to start with recoil pull. Of course I did not get to use the mower until mid to late April. It did fine the first couple of times I used it, but then the starter stopped working properly. In fact the starter was totally dead. Rather than complain to Home Depot, I contacted Ariens Customer Support and they told me to take it to one of their recommended repair shops and not to contact Home Depot. There was only two shops in town. The first would not even return my calls and the second said it would be at least four weeks before they could get to it. (How many people do you know that can do without their mower for four weeks in the height of mowing season). Ariens customer support suddenly started saying that they had no control over the repair shops since they were independently owned, yet this was the shop they said to take it to. The customer support had the most lackadaisical attitude about helping. They did not seem to want to be bothered. Almost eight weeks have passed and I still do not have my mower back. The repair shop does have the mower fixed. It required a starter, a cutoff switch and a new charger. This for a brand new mower that had only been used three times. You have to question their quality control. The mower cut great, but due to my back, the primary reason for purchasing it was because of the electric start. The repair shop is now simply waiting to receive confirmation that Ariens will honor the repairs under their warranty. I again contacted Customer Support last week to try and expedite that procedure and was told by their representative that there was "nothing he could do". Everything had to go through their proper channels. Some customer support huh? Meanwhile, I have been borrowing my neighbors mower with a recoil start. That doesn't help my 68 year old back. To say I am dissatisfied with this purchase would be an extreme understatement.

I have never had such a piece of junk it's hard to start if it starts at all. I spend more time fighting with it than mowing the lawn. I give it one star and that's one to many.

I purchased an Ariens LM21 with the swivel front wheel option 6 years ago. It has the 6.5hp Briggs & Stratton Quantum engine. It starts after priming it 7 times and one or two pulls time after time and year after year. The only time it does not start well is if you turn it off to take a break and try to re-crank while its hot. It may take 5 or six pulls to fire it up again. The only part thats broken is the left rear tire tread skin ahs torn apart due to rubbing against bed pavers etc. Just ordered anew one. This has been a very powerful and good mower. The most powerful I've owned, better than the Snapper I had. I would purchase another when this one goes out. Good mower.

I have had this unit for 3 summers now. Have only done basic maintenance (oil changes, filter cleans & blade sharpening)(no spark plug replacement). To date the unit has been very reliable. My initial concern was the automatic choke which has proved to be reliable and provides single pull starting. I had previously owned mowers with Briggs engines. I do like the Kohler engine on this unit. I primarily use the mower as a mulching unit. It gets the job done as well or better than any other mulching mower I have previously owned. Although the unit doesn't have a throttle control I haven't found this to be an issue. The units speed preset is where it should be for maximum performance.

I had a mower like this about 15 years ago. I kept trying less expensive mowers, but they just don't stack up. This mower started out of the box on the second pull. Great solid deck, no cheap metal forms. All the power I'll ever need. Easy wheel adjustments and easy bag removal. It is heavy, but I like the work out. I would definitely recommend.

I purchased the push mower almost a year ago. Two days after I purchased it, I had to return it because it would not start. A week later I returned it again because I nor the store manager could not start it. The third one worked like a charm until I tried to start it after one month of sitting - it would run for about 10 seconds and die. IT was under warranty but to get it fixed I had to send it to Georgia and wait for it to be fixed and returned. I just replaced the float valve and gas line myself. If I can get local repair, what good is that to me? I live in Florida - we mow all the time. Sharon L25
