Had multiple problems. Was sent on wild goose chase by Arians customer support. Drove to several recommended locations but was told that they would not service unit purchased from Home Depot.
Finally, after about 10 uses a gasket broke resulting the spillage of oil into the manifold and onto the ground. This company does NOT stand behind its warranty. Does not even deserve a 1 star rating.

I could almost stop the blade with my finger, so it was extremely tedious to dig any kind of trench or edge

The process to obtain the tax-exempt number for the government agency I work for was a bit lengthy. After several phone calls by Derek, the rep at the Port St. Lucie store (Gatlin Blvd), we were able to get the number established. From there, the process was a breeze. The item purchased came as promised, and the pick-up from the front desk was very smooth.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Brian Great Edger
This edger is worth the extra money. It is powerful, cuts crisp clean lines, and starts on the first pull every time. (I did have trouble starting it once, but then I noticed the spark plug had come loose. As soon as I popped it back on, it fired right up.)
The one aspect of the edger that I've been disappointed with is the "curb hop" feature. The back tire is easy to adjust... However, because the front tire isn't adjustable, the blade (when engaged) is too far down and the edger ends up riding on the blade gaurd instead of the front tire--at least on the curbs in my neighborhood.
Overall though, a great product. I would definitely purchase it again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by clip Works like a charm!
It does what it is supposed to do without even grunting. The only thing I can begrudge it is the oil dipstick on the motor, it's not what I am used to as it sits at a pretty good angle towards level so it leaves a lot of room for oil level guessing. If it was more straight up and down, it would be a no-brainer. The unit is sturdy. The manuals are extensive- which is good for ordering parts down the road if need be. Assembly was a piece of cake too, attach the handle assembly and one rod for the depth adjuster, add oil and gas, and go. Of note also is the ease of adjusting the angle of the blade.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Yardworker A Solid Product
This edger is a quality product. Starts easily on the first pull. I edge a long driveway as well as the side walk and curb. So easy to use that I keep on going and do the neighbors as well. Cuts right through the grass and dirt around the flower beds without any problem. It is also surprisingly quiet for the size of the motor. The unit is light enough for one person to pick up and put in the back of a truck (all of your friends will want to borrow it). The product feels rock solid and I expect it will be the last edger that I need to purchase. If I had to add a draw back it would be that when edging the flower beds you cant go as fast because you are rolling on the grass but you still get it done faster and straighter than using a shovel or stick type edger.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Steve Nice machine....when it works!
I have owned the Ariens edger for one year and I am satisfied with the overall performance, but it has already been in the repair shop twice. When the edger was initially delivered, the fuel safety valve was stuck in the on position, so it had to be brought to a local repair shop. This spring, when I tried to start the unit, it would not run. Turns out that the spark plug wire had detached from the connector socket, so another trip to the repair shop. Ariens customer service has been excellent and both repairs were covered under the warrantee, but transporting the unit in my auto was difficult at best and resulted in a strained back both times!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by hg1977 Worth every penny!
After burning up a couple of hand held edgers, finally decided to bite the bullet on this machine, assembly took about 5 minutes, engine started on first pull, edged about 200' of driveway and sidewalk in a fraction of the time I normally spent with handhelds, great investment
