This edger is worth the extra money. It is powerful, cuts crisp clean lines, and starts on the first pull every time. (I did have trouble starting it once, but then I noticed the spark plug had come loose. As soon as I popped it back on, it fired right up.)
The one aspect of the edger that I've been disappointed with is the "curb hop" feature. The back tire is easy to adjust... However, because the front tire isn't adjustable, the blade (when engaged) is too far down and the edger ends up riding on the blade gaurd instead of the front tire--at least on the curbs in my neighborhood.
Overall though, a great product. I would definitely purchase it again.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by SteveHomeowner Well-built with some strange design choices
This is a solid unit that I'm sure will last me for years. Starts easily and runs smoothly. The engine has plenty of power to get through any edging challenge.
Just a few annoyances -
1. Set up for flat ground, the adjustable back wheel is about 5" further back than the other rear wheel. This makes steering/maneuvering more difficult than it should be.
2. That adjustable rear wheel does not go low enough to work on the curbs in my neighborhood, so I have to edge curbs with the edger in the grass. The fact that I can't use this feature makes #1 more frustrating.
3. The on-off switch is in the very front of the engine which is not convenient.
I bought this from the website because my local store didn't carry it. I wish I'd been able to test it because I probably would have kept shopping for a different edger due to the annoyances above.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by tmmr00 2nd Review. My first review was in 2011 tmmr00
I have the edger with the 136cc LCT engine. You can read my old review back in 2011 under tmmr00. I wanted to do a follow up just to let you know how the edger is holding up in the long term. The only adjustment I have had to do to this machine since 2011 is tighten the nut which holds the blade height adjustment handle. That took about 2 seconds to complete. It did not want to start today (1/26/14) for the first time EVER. The problem was I had not run it since October and the gas was bad. Poured out old gas, put in fresh and WHALA!! It started. I moved to San Antonio, TX back in July 2013 so I don't have to cut the church (Whole City block of edging) anymore. So I just use it for home use now. But please know I used the HECK out of it back in Harlingen, TX. I was the only one cutting the grass at church, so this machine was used 2x/week (church and home) all year round. The grass there grows all year round because of the climate. So this machine is durable and my wife still compliments my straight edges.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Yardworker A Solid Product
This edger is a quality product. Starts easily on the first pull. I edge a long driveway as well as the side walk and curb. So easy to use that I keep on going and do the neighbors as well. Cuts right through the grass and dirt around the flower beds without any problem. It is also surprisingly quiet for the size of the motor. The unit is light enough for one person to pick up and put in the back of a truck (all of your friends will want to borrow it). The product feels rock solid and I expect it will be the last edger that I need to purchase. If I had to add a draw back it would be that when edging the flower beds you cant go as fast because you are rolling on the grass but you still get it done faster and straighter than using a shovel or stick type edger.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by tmmr00 Overall pretty good
I have waited until I put some use on this machine before writing this review. My edger has the LCT engine. The unit was beyond easy to assemble. The frame is extremly solid (heavy sucker) and I believe will outlast several engines. The only part on the whole unit that appears to look kind of weak is the starter assembly. The outside shield part is made of plastic. I have had no trouble with this part of the engine but I just want to let you know my thought on that part.
I use it to edge at our church which is more than a WHOLE city block of edging (this has saved me from serious back strain).
I also use it at home. The first time I used it at home I finally got a positive comment from the wife on how straight the edging looks. I used to do the edging with an echo string edger which gets away from me from time to time.
The engine has more than enough power. I only run it at a bit more than half throttle for what I need to do. It is a quiet engine that appears to be well built.
The curb jumping feature works just fine as designed.
I purchased a Sears edger w. a Briggs & Stratton engine, but returned it because it did not have the curb jumping feature.
This little LCT engine runs so much smoother than the Briggs.
So far I am pleased with this edger and would recommend.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 This edger is a very nice, well built unit. It does a great job too. Very simple assembly, right out of the box, ready to run. Easy to use, and well balanced unit. I wondered about the price,as is a little higher than other brand units, but appears to be well worth the extra money. I have about 300 feet of edging to do, and this unit does it flawlessly.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jerry This Edger has the quality and power I was looking for.
I purchased this for edging a High School Baseball Field. For the long straight edges it handles the work with no problem. The operation of the edger is very easy to use. Relative to edging around the home, the size makes some of the round turns a little more challenging. Really the only dissatisfaction is that the curbs in my neighborhood are higher than the extension wheel will extend. However, I reverse the direction and run the wheels in the grass and maybe rotate the blade where the yard is hillside.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RSmith A Nice Edger - Seems well built easy to start
I got this yesterday and tried it out this morning. Assembly took maybe 3 mins (2 bolts to tighten and the rod to the blade) added the oil and gas and the first crank was not even a full pull. Blade has a nice feature where it does not engage until you move it to a cutting position. Unit feels very durable and strong. You can't go wrong with this one. I am replacing my 10 year old craftsman with this one.
