These were easy to install. Need to pay close attention to the direction as they are directional and putting them on correctly makes all the difference.
Since it was cold when I was installing them, I had to use a wrench to tighten them correctly.
But i can tell you that these made a big difference when trying to hold a straight line. Excellent value for the price.

Fit my Ariens Compact 22 perfectly. The plastic knobs have nylon insert to lock them in place and you need to use a pair of channel locks to tighten or be very strong which I am not any longer :-). Free delivery right to my door and takes five minutes to install. Not sure why you would want to turn them down they are not in the way. I am leaving mine up.

Ariens name "Drift Cutter" is their #72406900 and their "Cutter Bar" or "Slicer Bar" is their # 73203100. Home Depot needs to correct their web-site.
The proper Ariens "Drift Cutter" is more versatile than their Cutter Bar in that it is far easier to adjust into and out of the 'storage position'!

Well designed & easy to install and remove with knob-headed bolts. Come as a pair so you are able to use one on either side, or both.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lare Work, but not really adjustable
The drift cutters work as they should, but the product photo and description are a little deceiving.
First, they come with plastic knobs to turn onto the bolts instead of nuts as shown in the picture. And for some reason (I suspect it was the cold on the plastic locking insert) I couldn't turn any of the knobs on by hand to attach the drift cutters so I used regular locknuts and a wrench instead.
So they work well, but aren't really adjustable without tools as described.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Starik Not bad snowblower, although could use more power
I received the machine about a week ago (by the way, it was long and very inconvenient delivery) and have just used it the first time on about 10 inches of fresh average weight snow.
First of all, the engine starts very nice from both electrical starter and pull handle.
The blower works not bad, although it takes the whole depth of snow on the whole working width of the machine only if you go very slowly. Even if you use half of the machine’s 22 inches of working width, you have to stop time to time to allow the blower to “restore its breath” – otherwise it’s pretty close to choking.
At the same time the machine cleans the surface pretty well, up to bare pavement. And there are no doubts that with my old electrical Curve 1800 the cleaning process would take at least three times longer.
So even taking into account the problems I mentioned, I would recommend this snow blower.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 101proof excellent drift cutters.
i bought this product and was skeptical since i have not seen it in the store. product is very heavy duty and the great news is that it works with almost any brand snow blower. i was using it ariens sno-tek initially but then i upgraded to a bigger troy-bilt xp3090 storm force blower and it fits perfectly. i would advice using couple of washers with each bolt to get a tight and easy fit.

fit my Airens 7/24 like a glove. Very solid. I do not like the hand tightened nuts. They protrude enought to snag the snow bank.
