The box is about 35 inches high which was too tight for my RAV4. I cut the top of the cardboard box off at the store and they loaded it with a forklift. I unloaded it by myself using two 2x6 boards and slid it down the boards. It all worked fine but they need to be very careful at the store to not damage the vehicle while loading.

This in all probability will not fit in your SUV. Even if it could it would be a bear to load and unload. Even if you have to pay a charge it is an advantage to have the store deliver it to you. You don't have to start it to move it into your garage or shed, you can free wheel it.

One of them caught in the auger and caused the sheer pin to break, just as it's designed to do. It took about five minutes to put in a new shear pin and I was back in business.
As to whether you need a 24" or 28", only you can decide. They're both great machines, but the 28" takes a bigger bite as you move along. I have the 28" as I have two driveways and a corner lot with about 300 feet of sidewalk. It's made clearing snow a pleasant experience instead of "I hope I don't slip and fall". I don't think there's a bad decision to be made if you're choosing between the 24 or 28. Read Less

No it is not a good choice. My uneven paved driveway sent this machine in every direction but straight. Yes you can lower the skids to raise the scraper bar to help the blower go straight but do you want to have snow left behind after each pass? My driveway is also 200 feet long. The auto turn was all over the place in wheel tracks and when you hit a ice chunks too. I returned mine to the store

either ariens width will be good but the auto steering feature is brand new in 2014 and some people are reporting problems when operating on uneven or sloping conditions. might be better suited for the ariens that doesn't have the auto turn steering but rather the rear wheels that can be locked individually or both at the same time by pinning each wheel to the drive axle.

Either one will work, 200 ft is a good amount of driveway to clean. I would go with the larger one, unless you are a small individual and would have difficult time with the larger machine. It's not that much of a difference. I would suggest looking for an Ariens that has the Auto Turn feature, it makes turns much easier and you have traction all the time when the wheels are engaged

There are storage instructions in your owners manual. If you did not receive one please go to www.ariens.com and click on support then manuals/products manuals. You will need your model and serial number which is on the sticker of the machine on the operators end of the machine, look down towards your feet and it is on the main frame of the machine.

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 1656 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great machine, Good Price, Made in America, and it gets the job done. With El Nino coming on this winter I new I would be needing a reliable snow blower. In Oct. I ordered an Ariens 28" model and it arrived just in time for the first snow event. I already have an Ariens lawn tractor and it has been simply great. I really like the fact that Ariens builds their machines right here in America. My new 28" blower starts easy, is a snap to operate, and whether its 4 inches or two feet of snow it chews right through it including compound snow and ice. It takes me bout 5 runs and 15 minutes to clear my 170 feet of 16' wide driveway. Snow removal at my place is no longer a chore, its a pleasure. December 30, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by powerful snow blower for a 2ft snowfall overall the snow blower did a good job. Most features were good, but the auto-turn made it difficult to keep it going in a straight line. Could not control the auto turn feature. Good power and easy to start. March 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Don't buy anything else! Don't waste time or money on anything else! Arians is hands down the best snow thrower I've ever owned! Blizzard in Maryland 2016 we got 30 inches. This blower went through the the snow like it was butter! Very easy to handle and very powerful. Throws the snow at least 40 feet! Trust me, I've looked at and owned a few other brand snow throwers and none compare to Ariens. American made, all metal, can't beat it! January 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Solid Snow Blower I never have had snow blower before but since I am now in an area outside the city that gets a few storms with 10” to 12” snows I wanted to be prepared. I bought this in December on line from HD and a local dealer delivered it. Dealer was very helpful and walked through start up, maintenance and safety. It gave me confidence in the Ariens and also a good source for maintenance and repairs. We have had unseasonable warm weather and luckily this weekend I got the opportunity to put the Ariens to the test with the Blizzard of 2016. By mid-day Saturday we had over 12” and snow drifts of 21” or more (judging by height of the Ariens). It was a terrific test of the snow blower. I used the electric start which worked flawlessly. At one point outside I restarted using the hand pull. It was easy to start and far easier to pull than by Honda powered Bobcat (48” mower, 11hp). The Ariens was easy to handle with both forward and reserve controls. It is also well balanced and the large rear wheels allowed me to pull it back and turn without the wheels being engaged. It was far easier than I had imagined and made maneuvering a breeze. Cutting through the snow was impressive. I never felt that the Ariens was under strain. When I cut through drifts that were as high as the front to the blower, I would just slow down given the volume of snow it was throwing. The quality and build of this machine is very good and solid. All the controls are easy to identify and understand their use. They are all accessible from the operator’s position behind the handle bars. It is relatively intuitive but reading the manual from to back (very quick read) is important. Small things like connecting the electric start to the power cord before plugging the cord into the electrical outlet is an important safety step that would not be obvious (i.e. avoids sparks). All in all I am very satisfied and happy we had a blizzard to test my purchase of the Ariens snow blower. January 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by look at it on line the clerk at home depot gave me a great presentation of your product and sold me. I have not used the snow blower yet but look forward( if their is looking forward to a big snow next year) to use the machine. Never had one with the electric start. May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by She looks pretty I haven't had a chance to put it to use yet (and I'll be happy to never have to use it, but have comfort knowing we have it!) but it has every function that I would need in a snow blower. Very sturdy and easy to use. My father has owned the same Ariens snow blower for over 15 years and it still runs wonderful. This is a great model for the price. October 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for CO wet snow Used it for most recent snow storms in spring time. Worked great. Feels heavy, and remembering all of the buttons/levers/cords was not as intuitive as I like. But, when you have 15 inches of snow, it worked unbelievably well. A bit loud, nut what snow thrower isn't? April 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT LOOKS GOOD HAVE NOT STARTED YET. NEXT FALL WILL START AND HOPE IT RUNS. ONLY TIME WILL TELL April 26, 2016
