Purchased April 2016; very pleased with it thus far. Very sturdy unit that should last a long time. About the only thing I don't like about it is the rubber guard on the deck where the grass blows out. It sticks out too far and is very stiff, which encourages the owner to remove it. Otherwise I am very pleased and it is a great mower. The Home Depot experience was terrible. It is obvious they would prefer you order on line and have it delivered to your house where they don't have to touch it.

I have been looking around for 60” zero turn mowers for a few months now and pulled the trigger on the Ariens. It seems to be solid built and the features I need, which are few, but I just wanted a solid mower and not a problem child for later on with extra gadgets to worry about. Response is great, cutting is as expected, and the Kohler engine should last me hopefully longer than I need if I do the maintenance according to manual. I purchased mine through Home Depot in Denton Texas and used military discount that I worked though Jeff, one of the managers. Kudos to Jeff for all the support and helping load this beast machine onto trailer! I have only mowed my 4 acre lot three times but cannot report any troubles other than chute does stick out quite far on right driver’s side. The rear drive tires seem fine as I don’t have inclines to mow and mostly level surface. 4 acres mowing uses (at my speed 4-5 mph) 4 or so gallons of gas which surprised me with the efficiency and consumption.

Owned this mower for 2 months. Cut 3 acres. Cut mowing time in half. Old craftsman is now retired. Kohler engine is great. Had one on the craftsman. Never had a problem. Change your oil every year or sooner. Love the way it turns, no more 3 point turns. Get to the end of your cut and quickly start the next. Took a cut or two to get to know how to move around things but it is easily learned. Should have bought one sooner. Price is better than most other manufactures for a 60 inch deck. Looked at other brands but Ariens was less expensive. My neighbor has a Xmark but cost $8000.00 Shopped around and bought this mower. Good price and works great.

I used my MaxZoom 60 for several hrs and continue to enjoy cutting the grass. I found my self almost looking for grass to cut. I have noticed a couple of issues since my first review. My main concern is the problem I forsee when I have to change oil filter. The Kolher Courage Pro 25 has a oil filter mounted horizontally on right side of engine. Problem is there is very little room to access the filter and I can see no way to remove it unless I take something apart to get acess to it. The second issue I have found is that there is a wireloom and push/pull cables that go from the engine to the controls on right side that penetrates the frame. These cables and wireloom are binding very hard against the frame and will result in premature wear and possible failure. All said this is still the best mower I have ever used.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by hayseed A well built Ariens
The Arien's 60 in ZTR mower can cover allot of ground in a short period of time. I bought the 60" model to mow about 4 acres of yard. It can do it in 2 hrs or less. Even if the grass is long this mower still can handle and discharge of grass at a record pace. This mower is built well and comes in at over 800 lbs. The deck and rollers are professional grade. The Kohler engine has enough power to handle my mowing needs. The only item that I would consider old school would be the raising of the mower deck. The deck has a pedal to raise the deck and a series of pins to set the mowing depth. Though manual, there will be no failure due to an electric cylinder that may fail at some point.

I had previously ordered a Stanley 62 in ZTR. It wouldn't steer like it was supposed to. Took it to a SERVICE CENTER perGXI, They had it 3 months and couldn't fix it. I settled for a 60 inch ARIENS ZOOM MAX ZTR mower. It has performed flawlessly compared to the Stanley. Mows and handles GREAT.

Bought this mower from HD on line service last summer for home use. Mower was delivered to local authorized service center. Service center dropped off mower without providing any operational instructions or the opportunity to ask questions. Thankfully I was able to figure out the "how to's" on my own. Around June of this year 2015 with only 40 hours on the engine, it blew out. Took mower back to local service center where they replaced the engine with an engine that had 39 hours (Covered under the warranty) (After enduring a wait period of about 3 weeks the mower was returned and now after using it 3 times after the engine replacement the hydrostatic drive belt broke . Contacted ariens who said I should contact the local service center. Called local service center they said they will call back with a date when they can pick up mower. 1 week later no call from local service center no pick up of mower. Now mower just sits as decorated toy in my back yard unable to move awaiting pick up. This mower is not worth the headache. Hopefully someone from HD or ariens company will contact me to offer assistance in fixing this mower. As of this date I cannot recommend this mower to other buyers.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by alex Don't buy an Ariens mower
I've had my Ariens 60" mower for two years now just for mowing my 5 acres and have had nothing but problems with it. A nightmare really. As an example within just six months the deck broke off the mower which took about six weeks to fix. While I got the extended warranty on it the company who services the mower takes two week minimum to pick up the mower and return it fixed. I would not recommend an Ariens mower to anybody as it is a real sub standard product.
