Answer:
Gas and oil are separate. Needs 16oz of oil which was provided by Ariens. And use just regular unleaded gas. Just make sure you have a long skinny flexible funnel ready to pour the oil in.

Answer:
This model does not have electric start you will want to look at a model number 93803400 to get one with the electric start. The machine would look the same but would have the electric start option on it.

Answer:
Being in Ohio, I would probably go with a larger model. This model was fine for the winter on Long Island, NY.. It's a great machine. The average snow here is between 2 to 6 inches.. This is a perfect size for the condition here. It's so easy to use, that I taught my wife how to run the machine in 20 minutes..

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 45 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ariens Snow Blower The snow blower works well - there was a c-ring missing from one of the wheels, but the local Home Depot gave me one which fit. The snow blower has started top and worked well with each usage! January 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by meets expectations this snowblower has been used twice since delivered. It starts easily, throws dry snow very well, wet snow not as far. Good size for driveways/sidewalks, not too heavy. Pulls itself along well and paddles don't show much wear on edges at all. owners manual included with simple setup instructions to attach chute and erect the folding handle. Good instructions on how to start it, use it and store it, plus complete part number list if ever needed. Folding handle "elbows" lock/unlock and take some practice to operate properly, but when folded down the unit stores easily in a corner about the same as a lawnmower. Arrived well packed in a sturdy carton. March 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great bang for the buck! I bought this SS21, 136CC because it meets my requirements, just had 8.5" of heavy, wet snow and handled with ease. On the 15" drifts had to work it a little bit, raise on first pass then able to push straight through on 2nd pass. Had no problem going through 10" inch drifts in one pass, no problem with 15" drifts just could not do in one pass. I did 2 of my very large driveways and my neighbors very large drive way, also good amount of my back yard for the dog. This is a real workhorse and very easy to maneuver, no mixing gas either. If you live in the northeast this blower will suffice for around the house. This is 2nd storm, starts within 2 pulls every time, no need for the electric start. Glad I got it! January 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Starts full first pull goes through deep snow like nothing uses very little gas I bought this Aaron snow blower from Home Depot.com did a lot of research on it all I saw was great reviews when I got it we had our first real deep snow 10+ inches it went through it just fine very lightweight very easy to maneuver very satisfied great quality product great craftsmanship would recommend. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not working just right after 1 year. Used it 2 times last year and 1 time last week and the snow blower shop working. Home Depot does not service repairmen. Even if the parts are covered under warrantee and bring it to authorized service dealer, labor charge is $135 per hour. Very disappointing. February 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So far so good. The blower was easy for me to put together and it started up first time. I cannot really comment on its performance as we have not had any snow yet. I do know it will be easier for me to use than our previous snow blower, which was an Ariens also but was too powerful for me to handle. I would be exhausted after using it last winter which was a bad one here in NH. I had to do the snow clearing as my husband was too ill to do it. Hopefully this will live up to the reviews I read before purchasing. November 14, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great snow blower! I purchase this snow blower about a year ago. I didn't submit a review upon my purchase because I wanted to experience the quality and use of the Ariens Path Pro. I must say, I am very satisfied with Ariens Pro Path, it not as heavy, easy to use and start, and not as loud as some others. I have a Ariens Sno-Tek 2 stage blower also. December 15, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Single Stage Snow Blower This is super powerful for a single stage snow blower. Absolutely flies through 6"-8" with no problem, and I even used it up to 14" and it worked pretty well. My only complaint would be the manual way to adjust the chute, would be nice if there was a lever, but it's easy to do and not that big of a deal. It's also lightweight, so it's great to maneuver around patios or sidewalks. Super easy to assemble out of the box and fires right up each time. I've used a similar sized Toro and this seems much more powerful, throws the snow a good 12'. Would highly recommend. February 17, 2015
