I went all out on this snow blower purchase last September. In mid January I was disappointed as we had yet to have a significant snow storm. Was I wrong....as last winter was the greatest test of a snow blower yet. This Ariens professional series blower was put to the test on my yard. I have a significant property to maintain with two barns a long paver driveway, a stone driveway and paths to the outbuildings. This machine performed flawlessly from easy starting to tackling two feet of snow. I highly recommend the larger motor and the heated grips. This was my first winter of my retirement and snow removal was actually fun behind the Ariens 28" Professional.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Anthony Lots of power, can eat a lot of snow!
Positives: Love the new auto turn feature makes this machine very easy to maneuver despite its weight. In fact it also makes it feel like a much smaller machine, you don't feel like you are lugging this hug heavy thing around it is a pleasure. Great for people with back issues. This has lots of power and eats snow like crazy and can throw it across the street. We had some deep heavy wet snow and it had no problem with it, were as my old 11.5 HP Ariens would bog down.
Negatives: This machine does not clean down to the pavement well, engine hard to pull start stiff, does fire up as easily as the old snow king. It will rid up snow piles might need weight kit if in heavy snow areas. Wish they would make a beefier drive system than that disc in the commercial machine.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Joe Good snowblower but reliability is questionable
I purchased the snowblower and on the first day of a foot of snow the thing broke and would shut off after 5 seconds of running. Had a week and a half of the largest snow fall without a snowblower. Faulty throttle through the repair shop. Warantee covered everything though and worked the rest of the year without problems! Throws the snow about a mile! That week and a half without it was a serious flaw though that I think is somewhat common from other reviews I have read about the motor and the blower itself.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Michael The best snow blowing power and manoeuvrability I can imagine.
I had an Ariens 13-32 for some years which was becoming increasingly difficult for me to manage at 75 years of age. Nor did it blow snow as well as I had hoped. After researching just about every snowblower in the book, I cautiously came back to an Ariens. I divided blower width by torque and came up with the most power per inch of width for any snowblower. I also chose the smaller model for manoeuvrability, which is aided by the axle position. The Professional 28 turned out to be a winner - especially manageable and powerful. The auto-turn steering is a great idea but I find it tugs a bit - I would prefer the lock/unlock system I had on the 13-32. Reverse should be faster, but this should not deter any potential buyer. Along with Ariens traditional robust construction and reliability this is an unbeatable machine.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by William Excellent product!
I traded in an 18 year 10 hp Aries which was sill going strong for a new Professional 28. We live just north of Boston and this winter we had the most snowfall ever. The Pro 28 handled the 30+ inch snowfalls like they were a dusting. Plenty of power and all the features you want. The handle warmers were a real plus with the 5 to 15 degree windy weather we experienced during our snowstorms this year. I highly recommend and will buy an Aries snowblower again in 20 years or so.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kevin Great machine that will move a lot of snow and also slush with no problem.
Rubber boot came off chute deflector cable and water got into cable and froze making it difficult to use deflector in future storms. Wasn't taking it apart because I didn't want machine layed up. As in my previous review, Briggs and Stratton should have a simpler fuel drain from the carburetor bowl, and also a way to get all the fuel out of the tank. the pickup is just off the bottom, so I have to use a turkey baster to get it all out at the end of the season.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Craig It's a beast!
Bought this machine two years ago. Thought it was too much machine for my driveway. First winter didn't really test it. This past winter, living in Boston (110" of snow) in two months time really made me appreciate the shear power, and ease of use. It started every time and cut through anything put in its path. The hand warmers were surprisingly welcome. Would buy the same machine again. Would rather go big and have the power, than be undersized and fight the snow.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kenneth Excellent machine
I live in the Blue Ridge mountains and in the winter we get some severe snow storms with winds anywhere from fifteen to fifty miles per hour. With this said I decided to get the biggest walk behind snow blower I could get and wanted a good name brand. I have heard nothing but good things about Ariens snow throwers and decided to get one. I am totally pleased with all aspects of this machine and would recommend one to all my friends. Thank you.
