How many cc's is the engine on this Ariens Model 926038?

It is advertised on your website as being 420cc's (which is what I want). But under the "More Info" tab there is a downloadable PDF of the owner's manual. In that owner's manual document, it says that the engine in the Ariens Model 926038 is only 342cc's. Which is it???

Professional Series 28 in. Two-Stage Electric Start Gas Snow Blower (926038) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 209.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big power for major snow storm The completely assembled Arien's Professional 28 arrived at my door during the height of the storm. It replaced my 13 year old Arien. The delivery person did give some helpful tips on its usage. I filled the tank with gas and it started on the first pull. It cleared my semi circular driveway in 30 minutes with very little engine bog down at the end of the driveway. The slushy snow easily was thrown about 20 feet while the powder went about 60 feet. It was very similar to my old machine but I did like the new controls for the Shute especially the locking position to change the height of of the blowing snow. I highly recommend this product and hope to have it as long as my old machine

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Could be heavier out front. Great machine a little light weight could use a little more weight out front so it doesn't vear up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good machine. Still could be better. - POWER: Power is good, but for a machine sold as a PRO model, I would not want any less power. My first use of this machine was on about 8-9" of HEAVY wet snow (almost slush). It cleared most in2nd or 3rd gear. 1at gear was needed for the 12 - 16" pile the town plowed up at the end of my driveway. It struggled here, but got through it. - ENGINE QUALITY: This has a "Category C" engine rated at 250 hours for emissions durability. This is the LOWEST durability rating for Briggs & Stratton engines in this size category. They have at least 2 or 3 higher durability ratings for engines of this type. Emissions durability does not equate to engine lifespan hours, but if this is the lowest category, it makes me wonder just how durable & long lasting this motor will be. Given this snow blower is sold as a "PRO" model I would tend to expect more than the lowest in a category of motors. - THROTTLE LEVER ON ENGINE: This is a big engine with some pretty significant vibration at times which occasionally seems to allow the throttle lever to vibrate to a lower, less powerful setting. A firmer slide mechanism, or even an easily bypassed "lock" to hold the lever at full throttle, would be helpful. - AUTO-TURN: The auto-turn system solves one problem, but creates another. I have a flat paved driveway & even on a good surface like this, the outer edges of the machine will have a little extra friction at times & this causes the auto-turn to kick in & the machine starts to turn left or right on its own. You have to exert pressure to get this fairly heavy machine to get it back in a straight line. It is a bit hard to drive this in a straight line, especially with lower amounts of snow. Auto-turn needs some type of "clutch" system to disengage it to make going straight as easy as it should be. - SNOW SCOOP/BRUSH: Should be mounted on blower handle or under dash. On auger housing it collects snow

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IT'S OVER Read all the reviews on this machine and you will find that everything that has to be said has been said so I'll be brief. Your search is over, the chances of this snow-blower being the last one you'll ever buy is nothing short of excellent. Your first winter use is the break-in period, then adjust your auger belts.....That's it. It's over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Mother of Snowblowers My first Ariens was too small because I didn't want to spend the money, another lesson learned. This time I spent the money and got a full featured blower. This thing is a beast, doesn't stall. And turns on a dime. Oh. The hand warmer is nice to defrost hands. I've spent less on used cars but I don't regret this purchase. It does like to drink fuel but that is a large engine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ariens 926038 Professional Series 2-Stage 28 in. For now, I will provide feedback on my Home Depot purchase & delivery of the machine. Later in the season, I will provide feedback on the performance. This model is NOT sold in your local store and can only be ordered online and delivered directly to your home. When ordering, I found a coupon code (BATH175RK) which knocked $175 off the purchase price. This reduced the price to the lowest that I could find locally or on the internet. Home depot email follow up on the order was thorough and provided a tracking number for the freight carrier. I was a little confused by the logistic details of how the blower would be delivered. Here is what happens. Ariens (Wisconsin) ships the machine using USF Holland freight company to an authorized location within a few hundred miles of your home. A tracking number was provided by Home depot for USF Holland. In my case, the shipment from Wisconsin to Detroit area only took a day and was easily tracked. The blower was shipped to a company called Altaquip in the Detroit area. Altaquip has over 20 locations across the country and is the main company which Ariens uses to prep their equipment prior to home delivery. Altaquip was very professional and courteous. They contact you via phone to advise that your blower has arrived in their facility and being prepared for delivery. They complete the assembly of the machine, put gasoline in and confirm oil levels. They ensure that the engine starts and that the machine functions properly. Altaquip coordinates a suitable delivery day when they call you; they gave me a few choices of days. Their drivers use larger panel trucks (21 foot semi) with lift gates on the back. The driver contacts you about 30 minutes or so before they arrive at your house. It is important to note that you MUST have a person available at the house when the blower is delivered; Altaquip will NOT leave the blower in your driveway without a person to sign for the equipment and take ownership. In my case the driver was hesitant to back all the way to my garage due to low hanging trees in my long country drive. He did get as close as possible, unloaded the unit off of the truck with the lift gate, got the signature handed me the operators manual and was on his way in about 5 minutes. Once in the garage, I looked over the blower carefully and powered it up. There is only about 2 cups of gasoline in the gas tank and the oil was full. The blower starts flawlessly and controls worked - except for one. I did have a problem with the shoot adjust which needed to be tweaked a little to get proper operation. The skid plates came adjusted for a solid surface. I have a crushed rock/gravel drive. I know from speaking with other blower users that the skids should be adjusted to leave 1+ inch of clearance so that the blower housing does not scoop up rocks - especially in the early season before you have packed snow and frost in the ground. The owners manual package comes with 2 shear pins, a small bottle of gas stabilizer, warranty card, Briggs engine manual and Ariens blower manual. You will need to complete and mail the warranty card which is prepaid. On my to do list before the snow starts to fly: * Buy a few more shear pins just to have plenty of spares. * Buy a nice 5 gallon gas can with good nozzle. * Spray some silicone spray on the inner shoot and impeller areas. Later this season I'll follow up with feedback on how this BEAST works. I'll add comments on how the 926038 handles and eats the lake effect snow that Lake Michigan dumps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 2013 Pro 28 performed like a Champ this winter! I finally retired my Ariens S-824 after more than 20 years of rock-steady service (tuned it up and gave it to my nephew where it still runs like a fresh machine). Bought my Pro-28 in October 2013, just in time for the worst winter we've had in Winnipeg, Manitoba since 1898: Kick-you-in-the-teeth cold and snow-falls way above normal. The Pro-28 didn't bat an eye - it did everything I asked of it and looked around for more. If it had the hand-crank chute control my 824 did, it would be absolutely perfect! But, maybe I'm too old for that much change. Don't like smart phones either.
