Quick and easy installation (tires are held on by one pin, so took them off the snowblower to install the chains) and they work great! Walks right through the snow instead of spinning and losing traction..

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A Challenge By Design The design to secure the chains to the tire leaves much room for improvement. Now begins the wait to see how the chains perform in the snow / ice environment.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No good for me - Ariens Compact 24 New Ariens Compact 24 came with 4.10/3.5-6 (=12.00 x 3.5-6) tires. Owners manual mistakenly says they should be 13 x 5-6. The Peerless Chain box for these chains is labelled for the tires I have. I could not find a combination of inner and outer link positions that did not leave me with worrying banging noises as the cross links hit protruding bolt heads and the like. Without bungie tigthteners, the chains came off in the first 100 feet. With bungie tighteners, they came off at around 500 ft. It seems to me that Peerless Chain labeled these Chinese chains for what they think they should work for but never actually tested them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Proper fit Just a heads up, you need to install the tires on the outside axle holes to provide enough clearance for the chain. This isn't stated on the directions for the chains nor is it mentioned in the Ariens manual. The outside holes are normally only used to unlock the tire.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from VALUABLE ACCESSORY FOR YOUR SNOW BLOWER These chains are a bit tricky to install (especially if you are working in a cold garage in the winter season. Here are two tips: 1) Use a portable heater when you work. 2) If you have trouble locking the chains, try letting the air out of your tries, attach the chain and refill air to spec.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well when you get them installed on tires. Since we have had a lot of ice and snow here in the east a set of chains would help the tires grip on the underlying ice so the snow could be removed. The directions for installing the chains was cumbersome and difficult to do I removed the wheel from the axil by pulling the lynch pin. Much more easy to put on the chains. This also allowed me to grease the axil so in the future the wheel would not be rusted to the axil. With the wheel off the chains went on much more easily. Before I put the chains on I discovered one of the cross links was installed incorrectly from the rest according to the enclosed directions. I corrected this mistake by removing the cross link and reinstalling it correctly. Both wheels have to be locked or else the chains hit the sides of the snow blower. Add air to the tires AFTER the chains are installed to snug them to the tire.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chains are for 12-inch tires The homedepot.com says the chains are for 13" tires, but the box itself says they're for 12" tires. They were too small and I had to return them.
