I purchased this mower over two years ago. A couple of weeks ago a magnet broke off the fly wheel and destroyed the alternator and ripped off two mounting towers from the cylinder assembly. If I do the work, that is about $500 in parts alone. I see that they are currently using a 14.5 hp instead of the 13.5 hp they originally installed. Hopefully this addresses power issues I had after installing the bagger.
I am currently attempting to get this fixed under the warranty but I think the engine warranty is for two years.I am careful with all of my vehicles/mowers and conduct preventive maintenance and timely repairs and services. This is just a factory defect. This mower has about 60-70 hours of use.
My last 5hp Briggs and Stratton lasted 20 years. I guess they don't build them like they used to. A replacement engine is the most economical choice at this point. I am just afraid to install another Briggs and Stratton.
I initially had problems with the blade belts falling off and had to make adjustments, but not before the belts were damaged. They will soon require replacement. The bagger is very expensive and required extensive modifications to work properly. In addition, the bagger mount had to modified to accommodate a tow bracket. The blades are soft and require constant sharpening or replacement.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by HappyCamper1 This mower is easy to use, and does a terrific job!
This is the best riding mower I have ever owned.I am still getting used to handling the mower, but it is great for areas with a lot of trees and bushes, which I have. I have a 3 acre lot with a lot of front landscaping, and trees in the back. This mower made it simple to maneuver around all the trees and bushes without having to make a big loop to mow completely around everything.
I only have a few issues; It is a little loud, and seems to use a lot of gas, but I am hoping that is because it is brand new and needs a little more running time. It is also an extremely bumpy ride, but the value and ease of use far outweigh these few things.

I ordered this mower online after about a year of research. I compared this mower with a Toro. This model was about $700 cheaper. It only took about a week from time of order to time of delivery. It goes from the factory directly to a local lawnmower shop. They test it out and then set up a delivery time convenient for you. I have only used it one time so far. Last year it took nearly 90 mins to mow with a 22 inch walk behind. With the Zoom 34 I was done in about 30 mins. The mower has plenty of power for a smaller model. It cuts nice and even. I would definately recommend this particular mower for anyone who has a medium sized lawn that doesn't wanna spend half the day walking it.

Perfect mower, just the right size for us. Goes the yard so fast. My husband just loves mowing the yard now. We needed the 38" so it would fit in the shed without using all the space around it. The company sends the mower to the local dealer before delivering to you. It's tested first. The local dealer then takes you all thru the details of the mower and makes sure you're comfortable before they leave. Great way to buy a mower. This will be the last rider we have to buy. We still have to have a push due to our yard, but very little of that.

Good power even with the Bagger installed. Foot pedal for adjusting the mower deck height very nice. Comfortable seat. Bagger has good vacuum power.
Rear tires are to narrow. if you turn to quick they tear up the grass. the engine cooling intake area prone to clogging with clippings when using bagger. so you have to make sure to clean it when you dump the Bags.
A little more about bagger.
I have been using it to pickup leaves that have collected in areas of my yard for years to the point that they are turning in to dust. I have filled up about 30 times (2000 lbs.) so far. It is able to fill the bags in less than 5 minutes when pushed but sometimes clogs the hose if you push to fast.

blew main fuse...and found it was buried in the frame...had to pull gas tank to replace...then i remounted it so i would never have to do that again...it should have been mounted in a better place from factory
belt replacement is my next job....and again it looks like a complete pain in the rear..old craftsman mowers are much easier to work on....
this mower is about 4 years old....would not buy another

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Darrel Ariens Zoom 34" Zero Turn Mower
I have only used this mower a couple of times so far, but my lot is about an acre, so it got a good test. I am very satisfied with the way it handles, and like the 34" cutting width because it allows me to enter the back yard through a small gate rather than having to go all the way to the rear side of the lot to go through our double gate, so if access through a gate is a problem for you, this mower will actually go through a standard 36" gate with little trouble.
Adjusting the cutting height is simple with the foot control on the deck, and it seems to cut very smoothly and evenly, considering it has no wheels on the mowing deck itself.
Fuel tank is more than adequate at 2 1/2 gallons. I am more than happy with this mower.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TWWW Great little mower for smaller yards
I did alot of research on zero turn mowers.I was looking to purchase one for my smaller city lot. This Ariens mower fit the bill. The mower cut very nicely. It was pretty easy to learn as I have never owned a zero turn rider. It does lack some power on hills so if you have any steep hills consider a more powerful engine on a larger unit. Overall though for my yard this unit has enough power to get the job done. I would reccomend this unit to anybody with a smaller yard that does not have steep hills to climb. Its actually fun to cut the grass now!!!!
