Customer Reviews

Kompact 47 in. White Balcony Rail Kit is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would not call the single piece of paper that came with this directions High quality, very nice addition to the spiral stair kit I purchased from the same company. It came with one piece of paper that I would call an illustrated bill of materials - just a picture of the parts included and some vague idea of how they go together. This was only a little helpful. I ended up sighting were I wanted the railing, then measuring and placing all the aluminum floor fittings first. To get the plastic upper ends into the metal tubes I first assembled the two plastic pieces, then set them in hand tight and smacked them on the ground upside down to get them to seat. I could not do this with my hands or a rubber mallet - it is a very tight fit. Then I placed all the balusters in loosely in the fittings on the floor. I used a magnetic level to level each vertical baluster, held it in place to drill pilot holes, and then put in the screws into the wooden railing. I installed the vertical support on the last baluster which required only one inch cut off to fit in my placement. Then I tightened all the set screws on the bottom fittings. It was not hard to install, and is very sturdy, but a few paragraphs of instructions would have been very helpful.
