Dear Sir/Madam, I need to install a Interior spiral staircase in the corner of 1st Floor and Basement and the opening at the 1st floor is 36" x 60", the height from the ground of the basement to the floor of the 1st Floor is 90". Do you have any Spiral Staircase Kit that fits my need? Or I have to make the opening bigger to 51" x 60"? Also, because the staircase is in the corner, two sides of the opening are wall, is there a way to adjust the staircase's entrance face the same direction or the side that has no wall? Thank you so much for your help!

Answer:
John,
Your finished opening size needs to be at least 2" greater than the diameter of the spiral staircase installed to avoid a pinch-point of the handrail against the opening or against a fixed wall. We have other models that are smaller in diameter (Phoenix and Civik) which can be purchased as a 47" diameter staircase. If you contact our Customer Sales & Support team via our toll-free telephone number Read More
John,
Your finished opening size needs to be at least 2" greater than the diameter of the spiral staircase installed to avoid a pinch-point of the handrail against the opening or against a fixed wall. We have other models that are smaller in diameter (Phoenix and Civik) which can be purchased as a 47" diameter staircase. If you contact our Customer Sales & Support team via our toll-free telephone number at (888) 782-4758 we can email you technical data sheets on these models to assist with your review and buying decision. You can also visit our website at www.arkestairs.com and use the stair builder program on the landing page for the Civik and Phoenix model to be able to produce a drawing that will show the tread positions from the floor to the top level. These 2 staircases can be turned either clockwise or counterclockwise at the time of installation to avoid a blocked/restrict exit point at the bottom. Another option would be our KARINA or NICE 2 models. These are our "space-saving" series of staircase kits and could be installed in the available space as noted in your inquiry. Read Less

Answer:
The NICE 1 spiral staircase is designed for interior installations so as long as the home is air conditioned, rusting should not be an issue. The balusters are manufactured from steel and then powder-coat finished painted. The handrail is manufactured from a high grade polypropylene material and is flexible and allows for a continuous installation without seems.
