Answer:
Hello LED16,
Have no fear about any heat generated by the power supply. I have mine in a 18" x 24" Kraftmaid Natural Oak cabinet, along with my spices, oils etc. There is no heat build up in there at all. I even just touched it, with my lights being on now for two hours, there is negligible heat on the power supply.

I have 2 in my cabinets. I just went and touched one, it is barely warmer than the room. I've had them there for almost a year, running pretty much 24 hours a day. No problems.

Yes, indeed you can and I often do secure it inside the cabinet above the microwave because I know I can obtain my 120 VAC source there. The only place I recommend you do not put the power supply is in a hot attic, especially surrounded by insulation. That is the only place I've had a power supply fail.

Answer:
You do not need to solder or get the fancy ends if the light strip is going to be hidden. I just carefully made a loop to make the 90 turn. You do have to be careful to not bend and crimp otherwise they will not work, but if you keep it fluid it works and you can never tell from the outside.

There are several approved methods for making 90 degree turns with your RibbonFlex Pro LED Tape Lighting. As one community member mentioned, you can make soft bend angles where the tape lighting doesn’t sit flat, like tying a bow. Since the lighting doesn’t sit flat with this method, Armacost Lighting only recommends this for above cabinet or cove mold lighting where the LEDs will be well hidden from view. For making turns under or inside cabinets, and wherever space is limited, we would recommend cutting the lighting and either soldering or using our connectors. Our SureLock Connector with wire (homedepot.com item# 205927566) can bridge small gaps and most turns with your lighting at any angle. We also have a new specialty corner connector which provides the same solution as our other connector, with less wire to hide – available soon on homedepot.com but currently available through our website. Answer:
There is only one way to make a 90 degree turn, and that is to cut and splice. Spicing can be done with connectors that are provided with the product I believe, but I solder all my junctions so that is why I'm unsure if the connectors are provided because I ignore them. If you solder, you can get away with very small gauge wire such as 22 gauge which makes this job easy.

Hi anonymous,
No, there is no 90 degree adaptor.
It will go at a right angle but it won't lay flat. That is what I had on the top of my cabinets. No one can tell the difference.

Answer:
Yes, the light strip is all LED. They run on DC, from a provided 12v, 2000ma power supply. It is made to plug into house current, but if you have a 12 v DC source, you could just run them on that, and not use the power supply. The remote has its own battery, and it is IR. The sensor for the lights gets blinded by the LEDs so turning them off requires being only 5-6 feet from the sensor.

No remote operation for this product. These LED tape lights require a driver (power supply). The driver requires 120 VAC and the driver has a 12 VDC output for the tape light. Switching the driver therefore switches the lights.

Answer:
Yes indeed you can use a regular residential switch. You have to decide if you're going to switch the 120 VAC input power or the 12 VDC output power. I like to switch the 120 VAC power because I like the idea of the power supply not operational when the lights are off.

Yes, but use the switch to control a 120V outlet and plug the transformer into the outlet.
The dimmer goes in the 12V line after the transformer. Shutting off the dimmer does NOT shut off the transformer which will use electricity 24/7 if it is not switched off from the 120Vs. Yes, the transformer uses electricity even if the lights are shut off with the dimmer.

Answer:
As long as the receptacle is switched, yes.
Remember, these lights do not wire directly to 120V AC power. You are required to purchase the 30-60W power supply and that power supply plugs in to a standard receptacle. If that receptacle is switched, then yes, you can turn them on off with a wall switch.

12 ft. LED Warm White Tape Light is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 216.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Solution for Cabinet Lighting This LED tape light product is the ultimate for under cabinet and top cabinet applications. They make glass tiles really shimmer. While they aren't the lowest cost option. the end product is awesome. They are bright and work well with a dimmer switch.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice addition to kitchen..sometimes Put in remodel about six months ago. Put in a 60 watt transformer with the wireless dimmer. All armcost products.Worked great for the first five months. Then, went on vacation for a month, came home and lights were on. Thought, maybe the power flickered, making them trigger on, then, every day since, they'd continuously go on and off throughout the day. Trying to get answers from armcost on this issue as it is getting rather annoying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lessons learned from a lighting project first-timer Allow me to share a list of things to be aware of before you buy: 1) These lights are brighter than my kitchen lights, which looks a little odd. Make sure you have really bright kitchen lights. 2) Definitely by the dimmer that's sold separately. It's worth the 20 bucks. 3) The lighting comes with one sample connector, then the directions tell you to go out and buy more. Make sure you buy these connectors while at the store. I used one lighting set for my cabinets and I needed 7 connectors. 3) If you do buy the connectors you will need a drillbit that's at least a 1/2" so that you can fit the connector through the holes. 4) Buy extra wire while you're at the store. It's really cheap so get more than what you need. It will save you a trip later because you might make a mistake in measuring and cutting. 5) You won't need to go out and buy a solder kit but definitely spend a couple of dollars on a pack of wire nuts and electrical tape. 6) There are lots of YouTube videos on installing these lights that are worth watching before you start. 7) Armacost customer service was very helpful and patient with my multiple calls. Once the lighting is installed, it looks great! Hopefully these tips help you avoid multiple trips to the store. Cheers, Lighting project first-timer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great undercabinet lighting I had an electrician install the direct connect dimmable DC power supply then I installed the lights and stuck them to the bottom of the cabinet. The light strip itself was very easy to maneuver around corners without the need for cutting and re-splicing. What I like the best is the constant stream of light all the way across the strip, there are no dark spots. I have this on a dimmer switch and I found that only half brightness is more than enough. The two pictures show the slightly different coloring but they definitely look more cool white I think because of the backsplash.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 12 ft. LED Warm White Tape Light The lights went in fine, but the connectors you need after you cut the tape and wish to use somewhere else, do not lock into the tape very easily. I used white tape on two to hold the clasp in place. Otherwise, the pricing was very good and the lights went in easy. The driver low voltage connection was fairly difficult to get the wires into. Required a special small screwdriver and the wires did not always lock in on the first attempt...this could be worked on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lighting for a good price! Lights were pretty straight forward to install. The biggest issue is getting the wires to all the cabinets so they are hidden. I choose to attach the lights on the inside ledge of the cabinets so you don't see the LED reflections on my counter tops. I also thought I may need the dimmer but I actually liked the brightness without a dimmer. Did my whole kitchen for around $100.00.

This is high quality lighting......not the cheap junk that's in the stores. Installs super easy with the snap connectors, and looks just gorgeous. I installed this for under-cabinet lighting in a rental house renovation, and it worked out so great that I installed it again in my own house. Exceeds my expectations.
