Woks just as described. It can be plugged in or hardwired this helps meet the electrical code.
A pro tip if you are wiring your kitchen put low voltage wires to your under counter light locations. Then place a switched outlet either in sink cabinet or vent cabinet and put the transformer their that way you don't have to see it under the cabinet and you can use very thin light valence molding!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Glen Small, versatile, easy installation
Bought these power supplies to power the Armacost 12v LED tape lights. These can be plugged into an outlet, or you can remove the power cord and direct wire them. They are small, low-profile, and come with mounting holes, so they are suitable for undercabinet lighting.
I ordered 2 for my installation, but one arrived DOA. This demonstrated the benefit of ordering from The Home Depot online. I simply took the defective part to my local Home Depot store, and they gave me credit, no questions asked. I didn't have to bother getting an RMA, re-boxing, and shipping it back like I would with other online retailers. I then ordered another one and it arrived in working order.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Tmick It's a power supply
Comes with everything you need. Can be direct-wired. Took some thought to make it look decent in a under cabinet direct-wire replacement install.
Wish more wattage options were available in-store.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by cjk5582 Great converter at a great price
Used this converter with the 12 foot strip and it performs as intended. I wired the 12 ft strip in an array and do not notice any voltage drop (light dimming) at the very ends. The converter is not overly large but it's large enough that I had to install it inside one of the cabinets to hide it. My upper cabinets only have a 3/4" lip underneath so installing it there would have made it visible.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JerseyExile Could Use an On/Off Switch
Electrical contractor had no problem installing this with under-counter tape light. The power source is nestled nicely and neatly in kitchen cabinet. It's not in a switched outlet, so could use an on-off switch on the power supply.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mach1 Fairly easy to install and they are working great
Fairly easy to install, I direct wired them (the way it’s build makes getting a 14 gauge wire in a little hard, but not too bad) to a wall switch and the other I direct wired it by pulling power from an outlet and routed it through a dimmer (make sure your dimmer is compatible). Remember this is electrical work if you are direct wiring be careful or call a electrician.... Direct wiring makes it a little harder but if you go with the attached plug... you'll ahve it done in no time

Great source of power and reasonably priced! Wish the product was alittle smaller and easier to hide under the cabinets.
