I have a cabinet with an outlet wired above it. I want to run one strip on the top of the cabinet and one on the bottom. Can I plug both strips into the power supply or do I need to daisy chain the two strips?

Answer:
You can only plug one strip into the power supply, you'll need to daisy chain the two strips in order to use a single power supply.

Answer:
You can have as many separate strips connected back to your power supply as you like, so long as the total combined wattage does not exceed the rating of said power supply. Due to the effects of voltage drop, longer lengths of RibbonFlex use fewer watts per foot than short lengths. These same effects also impose maximum limits to run lengths of the lighting. To find out if your setup is appropriate, find the model of LED tape lighting you are using and check power consumption on our wattage chart found here: http://www.armacostlighting.com/documents/Power_requirement_chart.pdf
If your LED strip lengths are over the maximum, you’ll need to break them down into shorter runs of lighting. If the wattage of the two lengths combined exceeds the 30-Watt maximum of this product, you might consider a larger power supply, like our 60-Watt (homedepot.com SKU# 203227258)

Answer:
For a simple solution to achieve independent switching on two zones with a single power supply, you can use a simple inline toggle switch (See HD.com SKU# 540439). This would be used to turn on/off one circuit or the other on the 12V DC output side of the power source. Answer:
You can't. To switch each 6 footer independently you'll need two power supplies. The 15-watt power supply has plenty of power for a 6 foot run. Order two model number 204512734, they're under $20 each.

Previous power supplies have had about a 5-10 second delay when switched on from my switched wall plug hidden in a cabinet. Hopeing this will solve the problem.

Each of our power supplies are designed for LED lighting loads and have been thoroughly tested to ensure reliability and full compatibility with our lighting, dimmers and controllers. With that said, in theory, most 12 volt DC Constant Voltage power supplies should be compatible with our lighting – 12 volt AC power supplies are NOT compatible. Also note that if you plan to use a Lutron style AC dimmer you will need to use our dimmable power supplies, item# 206697697 and 206697709 Please contact our support staff at support@armacostlighting.com for further questions, or to find out more information about other power supply offerings. Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 32 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked great - easy to install Used for 12' of under cabinet lights. Ended up cutting off the plug and hard wiring it to a switch. Everything worked perfect! Hard to order online and wish there were more in stock at the store. These sell out fast! May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Power Supply This power supply is required for the LED strip lights. It is powerful enough to supply a double string of tape lights in a small kitchen. It can be plugged into a outlet or directly wired into an AC power supply. It is a little difficult to direct wire 12 AWG cable due to the sharp bends needed to make the connection. March 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great Woks just as described. It can be plugged in or hardwired this helps meet the electrical code. A pro tip if you are wiring your kitchen put low voltage wires to your under counter light locations. Then place a switched outlet either in sink cabinet or vent cabinet and put the transformer their that way you don't have to see it under the cabinet and you can use very thin light valence molding! March 25, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Small, versatile, easy installation Bought these power supplies to power the Armacost 12v LED tape lights. These can be plugged into an outlet, or you can remove the power cord and direct wire them. They are small, low-profile, and come with mounting holes, so they are suitable for undercabinet lighting. I ordered 2 for my installation, but one arrived DOA. This demonstrated the benefit of ordering from The Home Depot online. I simply took the defective part to my local Home Depot store, and they gave me credit, no questions asked. I didn't have to bother getting an RMA, re-boxing, and shipping it back like I would with other online retailers. I then ordered another one and it arrived in working order. October 17, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It's a power supply Comes with everything you need. Can be direct-wired. Took some thought to make it look decent in a under cabinet direct-wire replacement install. Wish more wattage options were available in-store. March 20, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what I wanted We now have light in a formerly dark pantry. Easy to use November 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Choice Great source of power and reasonably priced! Wish the product was alittle smaller and easier to hide under the cabinets. June 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great converter at a great price Used this converter with the 12 foot strip and it performs as intended. I wired the 12 ft strip in an array and do not notice any voltage drop (light dimming) at the very ends. The converter is not overly large but it's large enough that I had to install it inside one of the cabinets to hide it. My upper cabinets only have a 3/4" lip underneath so installing it there would have made it visible. April 7, 2015
