Product Overview

Professional- grade Sure-Lock connectors are a fast and easy method for making low-voltage wire connections to LED tape lighting without soldering. These connectors feature extra wide internal contacts and a sturdy locking pressure pad door to ensure a secure and reliable connection with the copper pad contacts on LED tape lighting. The connectors with wire (8 in. L) are used for going around corners, or cut wire in half and easily splice to other wires to create power leads ("jumper cables") for bridging gaps and extending wire lengths. The splice connector will join two strips to create a continuous run of LED lighting.

  • Features unique Armacost Lighting design: read and follow installation guidelines
  • Includes 3 wire lead connectors and 1 LED tape light splice connector
  • Wire lead connectors can be cut in half and spliced into additional wire, creating 2 power leads to go around, for example, a range hood, refrigerator, etc.
  • Splice connectors join two LED tape light strips to create a continuous run of LED lighting
  • Ultra thin low profile design, only 9mm wide by 3mm thick
  • Compatible with Armacost RibbonFlex pro white LED tape lighting and other 2-conductor, 8mm wide tape lighting that has appropriate copper pad contacts
  • Rated for up to 6 Amp or 72-Watt of 12-Volt LED lighting
  • UL 94-Volt 0 flame retardant thermoplastic and UL rated multiple-conductor cable, RoHS compliant
  • Not for use with RGB LED tape lighting: Use RGB connectors with 4 conductor wires, SKU 203569119

Answer:
If you can solder, the connectors are unnecessary. Armacost Lighting's "support" and "installation" webpages are very helpful. Under the "Support" pages Armacost provides instructions for using wire (I used 18 gauge stranded wire). Installed my under-cabinet led lighting over 6 months ago and have had no problems yet

Answer:
Our Sure Lock connectors have been updated to come with a standard 8” wire length between the connectors. You can extend this length to bridge a gap in your lighting by simply cutting the connector wire in half, and splicing in a longer wire. You can contact Armacost Lighting’s support staff at support@armacostlighting.com if you have additional questions.

White LED Tape Light SureLock Connector Assortment Pack is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 43.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good enough, but need to be longer or... These connectors are relatively easy to use but have two shortcomings. Either they should be offered in greater lengths or connectors should be offered which allow easy connection to supplementary conductors. I couldn't run my LED ribbons to the ends of each cabinet (nor did I want to make runs the full length - it's harder to support the end connector without a little room for installing a staple/clip/etc.) And so, I had to cut each of the connectors and splice some conductors in to gain a few inches. This was quite a pain to have to do at each cabinet and of course every added connection introduces possible future failure points.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why Why would the connectors not be at store? Every install requires jumps and you have to order? Wish I would have picked a different product
Date published: 2015-12-27
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poorly designed The biggest hitch in my installation is dealing with the snap connectors. The snap connectors are really poorly designed, difficult to work with and unreliable. My biggest problem was getting a jumper between two strings of lights to work. I probably wasted 45 minutes trying to get it to work. I had difficulty getting the second string of lights to work, closing the snap connectors and keeping the connection working when I tried to tuck the wires out of view. Very frustrating.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to work with, but... These connectors made stringing Armacost tape light strands a cake walk. I'd much rather use something like this than to solder connections. However, the only length they make, 5.5", is far less than ideal. If they offered two lengths, 6" and 12", they would be essentially perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They work well I have an "L" shaped bank of kitchen cabinets. I used these snap connectors to make two 45 degree turns. They're very simple to use. Just cut the LED light strips to length, open the connector ends, insert LED light strip and snap closed. Worked perfectly. As always follow the directions that come with the LED lights.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well but pricey Works well but pricey. No instructions were included but were needed. Had to go online. Not much value for the cost but necessary for the project.
Date published: 2013-12-10
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The lights work well. It would be nice to be able to purchase these in the store directly.
Date published: 2014-11-04
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great lights - high hassle prepping to install The tape light connectors work well. Getting them connected to the tape light was a major hassle. For the tape lights to be connected as sorted lengths, they must be cut to the required lengths and the clear plastic must be removed from the tape light. It does not easily peel away from the tape light but instead requires a great deal of patience, time and a sharp Xacto knife to get the job done. Knowing what I know now about setting up these lights, I wouldn't have purchased them. I am glad the installation is over.
