Answer:
Make sure your underlayment, i.e. bare wood is prepared: smooth and clean. Use a product to seal the wood. I used polyurethane. The latex based product was not good enough for me. I wanted extra adhesive. so the polyurethane "skinned" over in an hour and I laid the tiles on that. It worked great for a plywood bathroom 20 years ago and those tiles are still stuck

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 17 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Thin wear layer or Non-existant wear layer Vinyl tiles are not the best product to use. I "dollied" my stove onto my new, self-installed vinyl tile floor. And as I gently set the stove down, the tile scratched through to the substrate. I have a l large white scratch now. Apparently the image of "wood" was the top layer. Now it is permanently scratched. Of course it is my fault, not a defect. Simply it is not a durable product. I worry about the rest of the 13 boxes I bought to tile a 32x12 foot room. Will the chairs scratch the image too? I bet it will. I'll spend the rest of the "warranty" covering those white scratches with a brown marker! No more "scooting" boxes and totes... Will have to lift and carry everything. Also, the photo here is more vibrant than the actual tile. September 19, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy and looks great Bought this floor for my kitchen looks so good I'm putting it in the rest of the house. It's easy to put down and cuts easy with scissors for cutting in. I have installed it myself and I am in my 60s. Instructions say clean and mop surface before laying floor. If u follow instructions u won't have lumps under tiles . A suggestion I took a small car brush and swept area each piece was going before laying it. I just moved it around the floor with me. I also have had no problem with tile slipping with each piece I laid I rolled it with a rolling pen. That got out any air bubbles and secured the edges to floor. The floors been finished in kitchen well over a month and still looks as pretty as when first laid November 9, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by NICE LOOKING FLOOR Easy to install. Looks very upscale. Would advise getting an extra box when ordering the tile, as a few didn't stick too well and stuck up slightly on a corner or two. Also had 2 tiles have the top design layer peel slightly at a couple of the corners. Not sorry I ordered this tile though, as the look of it brings me a lot of joy compared to what I've been looking at for the past 15 years. Will be anxious to see how it performs under every day use over the long run. December 10, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great looking flooring The tiles look great and are easy to install. Wish the adhesive backing was a bit stronger. May need to use glue to keep from peeling. March 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great economical flooring solution Great flooring DIY solution. Easy to install. Recommend a bond enhancer on concrete or wood underlayment. Previously used on a kitchen floor 10 years ago and it's still looks good and intact. February 3, 2015
